  • Publication number: 20070004540
Abstract: A racket grip training apparatus providing user chosen static positioning of a tennis racket in the hand at angles to the forearm that are determinable and repeatable. The device further provides components to set the face angle of the racket engaged to the device and visual indica to allow for the same positioning in subsequent uses. A planar member is removably engageable to the user's forearm at a first end and has an aperture at an opposite end adapted to encircle the grip of a racket and sized to prevent rotation of the racket axis past predetermined limits relative to the axis of the planar member.

  • Publication number: 20060257418
Abstract: This invention relates to three newly-identified, distinct groups of antigenic peptides [LB1(f) peptides] from the same region of the P5-like fimbrin protein discovered using sequence data from the fimbrin protein of many Haemophilus influenzae strains. The invention additionally provides chimeric polypeptides that carry one or more representatives of such peptides from different groups and which induce an immunogenic response in animals to Haemophilus influenzae. The peptides and polypeptides of the invention will be useful in vaccine compositions which provide protection against a wide range of H. influenzae strains.

  • Publication number: 20060180237
Abstract: An apparatus and corresponding method for dispensing compressed gas to a receiving tank is provided which includes a compressed gas source, a valve for controlling the flow of the compressed gas between the compressed gas source and the receiving tank, an electronic controller, a conduit between the valve and the receiving tank, and a density sensor for sensing the density of the compressed gas inside the receiving tank. The density sensor may be a capacitive sensor, a vibrating element sensor, or a nucleonic sensor. The electronic controller stores a predetermined set point density and the density sensor measures the density of the compressed gas in the receiving tank. The electronic controller periodically compares the density of the compressed gas with the predetermined set point density and controls the flow of compressed gas through the valve.

  • Publication number: 20060174941
Abstract: Method for supplying a high purity gas product comprising providing a first gas stream including a major component and at least one impurity component, determining the concentration of the at least one impurity component, and comparing the concentration so determined with a reference concentration for that component. When the value of the concentration so determined is less than or equal to the reference concentration, the first gas stream is utilized to provide the high purity gas product. When the value of the concentration so determined is greater than the reference concentration, a second gas stream comprising the major component is provided and the first and second gas streams are mixed to yield a mixed gas stream having a concentration of the at least one impurity component that is less than the reference concentration. The mixed gas stream is utilized to provide the high purity gas product.

  • Publication number: 20060124195
Abstract: An apparatus and process for measuring the concentration of hydrogen gas being transferred through a nozzle from a source container to a destination container and for providing an alert and/or taking action where hydrogen gas leaks may create an unsafe condition. The invention can accurately and reproducibly respond to and measure the absolute hydrogen gas concentration within the nozzle housing using hydrogen gas sensors that are selective only to hydrogen, which do not require the presence of oxygen to operate and which do not saturate when hydrogen safety levels are reached. These sensors are positioned inside the nozzle housing to allow for the direct and immediate knowledge of the presence of hydrogen gas that cannot be safely determined by other means. An apparatus and process for detecting leaks of liquid hydrogen through a nozzle during transfer of liquid hydrogen from a source container to a destination container are also discussed.

  • Publication number: 20060090255
Abstract: A motor with associated load sensor is connected to a circulation pump of a swimming pool circulation system. The load sensor performs the function of a safety vacuum release system by detecting underload of the motor. Underload is now discovered to be reliably indicative of blockage on the intake side of a circulation pump. A switch controlled by the load sensor shuts off the motor in response to a suitable underload. Vacuum on the intake side of the circulation pump neutralizes, thereby freeing a person or object blocking the suction line.

  • Publication number: 20050103400
Abstract: A mobile self-contained self-powered station having a plurality of vessels delivers a pressurized fluid to a receiving tank (e.g., a fuel tank of a hydrogen-powered vehicle) without using mechanical compression, external electric power, or other external utilities. The station includes first and second vessels, a conduit in fluid communication with the receiving tank and each of the first and second vessels, means for transferring at least a portion of a quantity of the pressurized fluid from the first vessel to the receiving tank, means for measuring continuously a pressure differential between the increasing pressure in the receiving tank and the decreasing pressure in the first vessel, means for discontinuing the transfer from the first vessel when a predetermined limit value is reached, and means for transferring at least a portion of a quantity of the pressurized fluid from the second vessel to the receiving tank.

  • Publication number: 20040080424
Abstract: Method for detecting and controlling the concentration of a flammable gas in an enclosed space. The method includes providing a source of flammable gas to an enclosed space, wherein the enclosed space includes a device which consumes or stores the flammable gas, and wherein the enclosed space further includes unclassified electrical equipment and an electrical power supply to the unclassified electrical equipment. The atmosphere in the enclosed space is analyzed to determine the concentration of the flammable gas therein and this concentration is compared to a first reference concentration and a second reference concentration that is less than the first reference concentration. When the concentration of the flammable gas in the enclosed space is between the first and second reference concentrations, the source of flammable gas to the enclosed space is terminated and the enclosed space is ventilated.
