  • Patent number: 4524590
Abstract: The door latch with lock includes a support bracket adapted to be mounted on the interior surface of an outer screen or storm door, an elongated bolt slideably and rotatably carried in a guideway on the support bracket, and a transversely extending handle on the bolt which extends through a slot in the guideway and is somewhat longer than the spacing between the outer door and an inner door. When the handle is in a generally horizontal sliding position, the bolt slides freely between a latched position wherein the outer end is received in a keeper on the door frame and an unlatched position wherein the bolt is retracted from the keeper. The bolt and handle can be rotated downwardly to a general vertical locking position when the bolt is in either the latched or unlatched positions, but lock means and actuating means prevent the sliding of the bolt between the latched and unlatched positions unless the handle is rotated to the sliding position.

  • Patent number: 4275910
Abstract: The door latch includes a support bracket adapted to be mounted on the interior surface of an outer screen or storm door, an elongated bolt slidably and rotatably carried in a guideway on the support bracket, and a transversely extending handle on the bolt which extends through a slot in the guideway and is somewhat longer than the spacing between the outer door and an inner door. When the handle is in a generally horizontal operating position, the slot permits the bolt to slide freely between a latching position wherein the outer end is received in a keeper on the door frame and an unlatched position wherein the bolt is retracted from the keeper. Detent recesses located at the opposite ends of the slot permit the handle to be rotated downwardly to a generally vertical non-operating position when the bolt is in either the latching or unlatched positions and prevent sliding of the bolt unless the handle is rotated to the operating position.

  • Patent number: 4111532
Abstract: A temporary rear view mirror which is adapted for removable mounting on existing side view mirrors of the type including a mirror pivotally mounted inside a housing supported on the exterior of a vehicle. The temporary mirror includes a casing arranged to fit over and at least partially enclose the housing of the existing side view mirror and a mirror pivotally supported on the outer end of an arm extending laterally outwardly from one side of the casing. In one embodiment, the casing is securely held in place by two pairs of laterally spaced arms depending from the lower edges of the front and rear walls of the casing and a bolt which connects each pair of arms and can be tightened to clamp the casing onto the housing of the existing rear view mirror.
