  • Patent number: 11814282
Abstract: A flow control valve is provided including a valve aperture in a valve body configured to convey fuel from an inlet to an outlet, a valve element configured to close the valve aperture to block flow of the fuel, a valve actuator configured to shift the position of the valve element between a closed position and an open position, and an antifraud circuit. The antifraud circuit is configured to receive a signal to open the flow control valve, determine if the signal is legitimate based on a signal characteristic, cause the flow control valve to shift to the open position in response to determining that the signal is legitimate.

  • Patent number: 8960019
Abstract: A fuel dispenser has internal fuel flow piping, a flow meter located along the internal fuel flow piping, and a displacement sensor operatively connected to the flow meter to generate information representative of an amount of fuel passing through the flow meter. The fuel dispenser also has a control system comprising a memory. In embodiments, however, the control system does not comprise a real-time clock. The fuel dispenser also comprises a synchronization module in electronic communication with the control system. The synchronization module comprises at least one antenna configured to receive a carrier wave modulated with synchronization information. Methods for obtaining accurate time information at the fuel dispenser are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5719779
Abstract: A fuel station communication system used to transmit audio and video information to customers at fuel pumps. The fuel station communication system includes a transmitter located in a station store and a receiver having a communication unit located at a fuel pump. A wire pair connects the transmitter and receiver together for transmitting audio and video signals from the transmitter to the receiver. To provide for simultaneous transmission of the audio and video signals over the wire pair, the transmitter includes a modulator and signal summer. The modulator modulates the audio signal above the video signal, and the signal summer adds the modulated audio signal and the video signal together to form a combined, audio-video signal. A differential line driver and differential line receiver are connected to provide transmission of the audio-video signal from the transmitter to the receiver.
