  • Patent number: 7360913
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved four part portable illumination apparatus for a comestible fluid dispenser comprised of a unique portable illumination device that is attached to the bottom side of a liquid dispenser or tap, immediately behind the liquid spout of the tap, and in position to direct colored light in the direction of an ultra-violet light sensitive comestible fluid container, and or container holder, and an ultra-violet light sensitive backsplash or curtain, and an ultra-violet sensitive drip tray. Colored visible illumination and UVa light from a single super bright light emitting diode within the portable illumination device is input into a collimating lens and directed toward a UVa sensitive fluid receptacle and drip tray. Electrical power for the solid-state illumination source is obtained from either a voltage source located within a carbonated fluid dispenser, or from a dedicated low voltage dc power supply.

  • Patent number: 7107138
Abstract: A new automotive (speed control system) safety feature is disclosed. A vehicle with an engaged speed control could be dangerous to drive on a road surface that changes from dry, offering little rolling resistance, to a surface that offers increased resistance to tire rotation. Resistance to tire rotation by water or snow on a road surface will cause an engaged speed control system to try and maintain the set vehicle speed by accelerating the vehicle into the rolling resistance. A driver may lose control of the vehicle in this circumstance if the speed control cannot be disabled immediately. The new safety feature disclosed would automatically disable the vehicle speed control system when the vehicle decelerates due to significant water or snow accumulation on the road surface.

  • Patent number: 7075423
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-function illuminating display for a motor vehicle combining an inverse function illuminating engine power indicator, a brake light, directional lights, and park lights. The segmented engine power display is fully illuminated at engine idle. Power display illumination decreases incrementally from each end as engine power increases, with minimum illumination at display center at maximum selected and adjusted power, and no illumination when power is above that point. Decreasing engine power to the maximum power point illuminates the center segments, followed by incrementally illuminating segments adjacent the center, until all segments are illuminated. Center segment illumination is of minimum intensity with increasing intensity of left and right side LEDs. The brake light inhibits power indication and illuminates the display as a brake light. Chasing directional lights have priority over the power indication and park lights, and are brighter than the park lights.

  • Patent number: 6819051
Abstract: New electrical circuits for controlling two-color side marker light systems on automotive vehicles are disclosed. There is a different control circuit for vehicles with OEM installed separate amber turn signal lights, OEM installed combination red directional, red brake lights, and OEM installed separate red turn signal lights. These circuits are designed to operate two-color side marker light systems in compliance with NHTSA Federal Motor Vehicle Standard No. 108. The side marker lights normally illuminate amber and turn red with the OEM brake lights. In the turn signal mode, the signaled side alternates between the OEM directional light color and off, while the non-signaled side is amber and will illuminate red with the brake light. A fourth new circuit for emergency vehicles will illuminate the marker lights red with the brake lights, or when switch activated will flash each side independently between two colors.

  • Publication number: 20030201885
Abstract: A new illuminated signal to following vehicle drivers is disclosed. This signal would inform the driver of the following vehicle that the driver of the lead vehicle had removed accelerator pedal pressure. The following vehicle driver may anticipate the deceleration and braking of the lead vehicle. So fore-warned, the driver of the following vehicle may also remove accelerator pressure, preventing the following vehicle from inappropriately approaching the rear of the lead vehicle, and the need for heavy brake action. This advance warning of lead vehicle deceleration and braking will decrease the reaction time needed by following vehicle drivers to safely brake after the lead vehicle brake light is observed, reducing the potential for rear-end collisions. This new light signal, indicating removal of accelerator pedal pressure in the lead vehicle, would cease whenever the lead vehicle brake is applied, or the cruise control is switched on.
