  • Patent number: 7374457
Abstract: A lighting system (10) has: a fixture (12) with an axis of orientation (14); and a light source (16) mounted within the fixture (12). A ballast (20), usually positioned on the side of the fixture away from the light source, is associated with the light source (16), the ballast (20) having a first end (22) attached to the light source (16) via appropriate wires and a second end (24) attached to an electrical power source (26), also by appropriate wires. The connector (28) is composed of inline electrical connector halves (30, 32) having proximal mating ends (34, 36), an axis of attachment (38) and distal ends (40, 42) provided with strain relief mounting means (44). One of the electrical connector halves, for example, (30), has a locking tongue (46) extending along the axis of attachment (38) and the other half, (32) in this instance, has a locking tongue receptor (48) for receiving the locking tongue (46), the tongue and receptor functioning to maintain the connector halves in a joined and locked position.

  • Patent number: 5458047
Abstract: A hydraulic damper for a high speed actuator is provided to bring the actuator to rest with minimum oscillation around a target position. The hydraulic damper comprises a hydraulic circuit to communicate with the actuator over its entire positional range for the purpose of dampening a sudden stop of the actuator about a target position. The actuator is connected by a cable to a reel, the reel being connected to a shaft movement of the actuator produces rotation of the shaft. The shaft is also connected to a hydraulic motor which pumps hydraulic fluid through a hydraulic damper too, in effect, dampen the movement of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 5012722
Abstract: An electrohydraulic servo valve employing a linear force motor having a floating coil and armature driven by a high frequency excitation signal modulated to change its average DC component. A servo loop controller modulates the excitation signal in response to feedback signals from the servo valve or a hydraulic actuator controlled by the servo valve.

  • Patent number: 4040445
Abstract: The invention relates to an electro-mechanical force motor device for converting a controlled electrical input signal into a mechanical movement, particularly for actuation of a hydraulic pilot or servo device. The basic component of the invention is a linear electric force motor with its principal components coaxially disposed and arranged to achieve linear mechanical displacement in accordance with an applied signal of voltage. The armature or coil element of the linear force motor is coupled to a double-acting bellows, which not only serves as a double-acting return spring, but also totally isolates the magnetic and electro magnetic elements of the force motor from the controlled system.
