    Abstract: A charging system for simultaneously charging the batteries of a plurality of battery powered vehicles. The charging includes one or more DC-DC power converters having one or more charging ports configured to plug into the batteries. The DC-DC power converters are each configured to selectively connect to more than one charging port to selectively provide for higher port power levels. The DC-DC power converters connect to an AC rectifier through a DC bus. The AC rectifier connects to an AC power source having a limited power rating. The AC charging system also has a controller that controls the operation of the DC-DC power converters such that the total power draw on the AC rectifier does not exceed the power rating. The system is further configured such that the DC-DC power converters can drain selected batteries to obtain power for charging other batteries, thus allowing for batteries to be cycled.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for managing the operation of a turbocharger and is responsible for controlling the turbocharger to cause a desired air mass flow to be provided to the engine and for protecting the turbocharger from excessive shaft speed and excessive turbine inlet temperature. The protection modes have higher priority than the performance control. First, turbocharger shaft speed is checked against a programmable limit, and the turbocharger is adjusted to bring the speed under control if its speed exceeds this limit. If the speed is not above the limit, the turbine inlet temperature is checked against a second programmable limit. If the turbocharger inlet temperature is above the predetermined limit, the turbocharger is adjusted to bring the inlet temperature under control.

    Abstract: A system for providing accurately time stamped vehicle operational messages following a real-time clock reset includes a vehicle control computer having a processor, a memory and a real-time clock powered by a constant power source. The processor is operable to store a current value of the real-time clock in memory at engine shut down and to determine whether a clock reset event occurred since the previous engine operational cycle by testing a clock error flag in memory. If such a clock reset event occurred, the processor is operable to reset the real-time clock at the clock value stored at engine shut down and store this value in an error buffer of the memory. Upon establishment of communications with a time correction device having a master real-time clock, the processor is operable to determine whether the error buffer contains any clock values therein.
