Patent number: 11544907Abstract: A system for display for an augmented/virtual reality-based decision-making simulation includes a controller configured to receive input from a user, at least one of an augmented reality or a virtual reality device configured to display a simulated environment, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores one or more computer-readable instructions, which, when executed by the processor, cause the system to: receive input by the user from the controller, indicating a selected scenario; display, on the at least one of the augmented reality or the virtual reality device, the selected scenario; receive input from the user, from the controller, to interact with the selected scenario; monitor one or more parameters associated with the execution of tasks in the selected scenario using the controller; and evaluate the user based on the monitored one or more parameters.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2021Date of Patent: January 3, 2023Inventors: Tanner Fred, Joseph Fields

Patent number: 10806497Abstract: Bone compression systems for internal fixation of bone portions include one or more spring washers having ultra high load capacity and ultra low displacement to close diminution gaps that develop in a discontinuity between the bone portions after fixation. The spring washers, individually or in stacks of up to four, provide installation loads between 1500 N and 4000 N. After closing diminution gaps, the spring washers or stacks provide sustained loads between 1000 N and 3000 N which stabilize the bone portions sufficiently to permit early load bearing. The sustained loads correspond to sustained average local bone stress just below the bone growth trigger threshold stress. The additional loads of early load bearing will create average local bone stress above the bone growth trigger threshold. By bone stress repeatedly passing through the bone growth trigger threshold stress, bone healing is optimized.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2015Date of Patent: October 20, 2020Assignee: BRIDGING MEDICAL, LLCInventors: Robert Michael Patty, Andrew Alan Enke, Cameron Joseph Field, Daniel Robert Patty

Publication number: 20200137909Abstract: A method of ergonomically preventing tech neck for users of an electronic device is provided. The method embodied in an electronic device case providing telescoping legs to support the attached electronic device in innumerable positions and orientations. The telescopic legs are pivotably connected to recesses along a rear portion of the case so that the former may fold into the recesses in a flush condition when not in use. The distal ends of the telescopic legs may provide foldable feet to further stabilize the systemic cases in the many positions and orientation the encased electronic devices are secured in.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 29, 2018Publication date: April 30, 2020Inventor: Michael Joseph Field

Publication number: 20160015440Abstract: A system for orthopedic repair of bones, the system may include a compression screw. The screw may include a blunt tip on one end with tapped threads to allow for greater bone fixation uniform across a threaded portion of the screw. The screw may also include springs, which may be Belleville washers, which provide appropriate compression and tension and prevent excessive loosening of the screw after surgery. The springs allow the screw to retract without losing pressure on the fracture site. The system may be minimally invasive for multiple fractures on a single bone such as calcaneal fractures, and stabilizing long bone fractures without bone plates.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2015Publication date: January 21, 2016Inventors: Robert Michael Patty, Cameron Joseph Field, Andrew Alan Enke, Daniel Robert Patty

Publication number: 20060045082Abstract: A method of remotely monitoring an Internet session includes participating in a first Internet session at a first Internet protocol (IP) address. Concurrent with the first Internet session, another Internet session is initiated at another IP address. Data associated with the first Internet session is automatically transferred to the other IP address via the other Internet session.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2005Publication date: March 2, 2006Applicant: Pearl Software, Inc.Inventors: David Fertell, Joseph Field

Patent number: 5543780Abstract: A tag is provided for being secured to an object whose location is to be monitored. Improved mechanisms are provided for ensuring that removal of the tag is detected and signaled to a monitoring system. One preferred embodiment of the tag of the present invention includes an optical sensor for sensing when the tag is near the surface of the object whose location is being monitored. The optical sensor emits optical signals to the surface of the object being monitored and receives reflected optical signals back therefrom. The tag periodically transmits status messages to the monitoring system which permit the monitoring system to determine whether the tag is being held near the object and whether the tag is within the monitored area. In another embodiment of the present invention, a temperature sensor is substituted for the optical sensor.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1995Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Assignee: Secure Care Products, Inc.Inventors: John M. McAuley, Joseph Field

Patent number: 5266040Abstract: A release mechanism for an electrical plug, and a method of releasing the plug from a socket. The release mechanism includes a perimeter ejecting member which substantially surrounds the electrical contact prongs of the plug and is moveable with respect thereto. A remote switch is energized, which activates the release mechanism and disengages the plug from the socket by sliding over the contact prongs.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1992Date of Patent: November 30, 1993Assignee: Cleaner Image Associates, Inc.Inventors: James M. Merrill, Joseph Field
