Features of the reconfigurable golf club head include a replaceable face plate to adjust the profile of the club face and a replaceable weight plate to adjust the club head center of gravity and inertia properties. Adjustable characteristics of the club face include the loft angle, bulge radius and roll radius.

    Abstract: A data acquisition apparatus acquires an analog input signal from an analog sensor, and generates digital data based on the analog input signal for processing by a personal computing apparatus. The analog input signal generated by the analog sensor has a voltage component which varies according to a condition sensed by the analog sensor. The data acquisition apparatus includes a first conversion circuit, such as a voltage-to-frequency converter, coupled to the analog sensor which receives the analog input signal and generates an analog information transfer signal having a signal component which varies in relation to the voltage component of the analog input signal. A signal transfer device, such as a portable audio record/playback device, records the analog information transfer signal and transfers it to a first audio input of the personal computing apparatus.

The system includes one or more joint angle variation sensors that provide one or more electrical characteristics that vary based on variation in the joint angle between the first and second arm members. The joint angle is variable over an angular range that includes a first angle and a second angle.

    Abstract: A device-coupled golf club 80 includes a club head 64 which is assembled with a shaft 22 by use of a coupling device 40. Club head 64 is formed with a hosel 68 which is formed with a bore 70 having threads 76 formed in an upper portion thereof and a floor 74 at the base thereof. Coupling device 40 is formed with a body 41 having a bore 42 formed axially therethrough. A flange 44 is formed radially outwardly from one end of the body 41 and is formed with threads 50 from the flange toward the opposite axial end of the body. A ferrule 56 is located on shaft 22 and a tip end 30 of the shaft is inserted into bore 42 of body 41 and secured there by an epoxy glue 82. An exterior surface of body 41 is formed with threads 50 which engage threads 76 formed within bore 70 of hosel 68 to removably secure device 40 with head 64 whereby shaft 22 is assembled with the head 64 to form club 80.

A tube 62 is coupled to support 34 to facilitate swinging movement of the device 30 where, due to the acceleration thereof, disc 48 is moved along rod 46 and pushes indicator 50 along the rod. When the swinging movement ceases, disc 48 is returned to the one end of rod 46 and indicator 50 remains at the position to which it was moved. A scale reading of a decal 89 adjacent the moved indicator 50 provides a indication of the acceleration attained during the swinging of device 30. This reading can be applied to a graph to assist the user of device 30 in the selection of golf clubs having a shaft stiffness most appropriate for the user.

    Abstract: An impressionable medium, such as a element 56, is secured to an impact face 30 of a head 22 of a golf club 20. Alterations, such as grooves 46, are formed in a surface 42 of a target object 40. The object 40 is placed on a level surface such as a surface pad 64 with the grooves 46 being perpendicular with a plane of the pad and positioned for being struck by the element 56 and the impact face 30. Impression lines 66 are formed in the element 56 by the grooves 46 when the club 20 is swung and the head 22 strikes the object 40. Impression lines 66 are a representation of the angular relationship between a bottom 34, or grooves 32, of the head 30 and the plane of the pad 64 at the instant the element 56 and the impact face 30 strike the target object 40. This representation can be used to determine the dynamic lie of the club 20 at the instant the target object 40 is struck.

    Abstract: The specification discloses a portable accessory dimensioned to rest on the benchseat of a motor vehicle. The accessory is defined by outer side, rear, front and bottom walls. The outer rear wall is contoured to fit the backrest of the benchseat; the outer bottom wall is contoured to fit the seat cushion. Separate inner side, rear, front and bottom walls are thermally insulated from the outer walls to define a storage compartment. A caddy includes a cylindrical cavity for receiving a beverage container which is disposed between the inner and outer front walls. A removable lid is designed to extend slightly into the storage compartment. The upper exposed surface of the lid provides an armrest for a passenger in the motor vehicle.
