  • Patent number: 10691730
Abstract: A method, computer program product and electronic device are provided for providing hyper-local geo-targeting based on validated, user-supplied geographic information, wherein the user's anonymity may be maintained. In particular, user-supplied geographic information may be collected in association with a truncated IP address. Once collected, the user-supplied information may be validated using geographic data previously derived from one or more complete IP addresses corresponding to the received truncated IP address. The derived geographic data may have been derived using a system that maps the routing infrastructure of the Internet in order to determine where endpoints on the Internet are located. The validated, user-supplied geographic information, which may be more specific than the derived geographic data, may then be used to provide more granular and accurate geo-targeting, all the while maintaining the privacy of the individual users.

  • Patent number: 9380379
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and apparatuses for the transmission of audio information from a bone-conduction headset to a user. The bone-conduction headset may be mounted on a glasses-style support structure. The bone-conduction transducer may be mounted near where the glasses-style support structure approach a wearer's ears. In one embodiment, an apparatus has a bone-conduction transducer with a diaphragm configured to vibrate based on a magnetic field. The magnetic field being based off an applied electric field. The apparatus may also have an anvil coupled to the diaphragm. The anvil may be configured to conduct the vibration from the bone-conduction transducer. Additionally, the anvil may be anvil may include at least one component configured to change properties to enable the bone-conduction headset to couple to the head of a user with greater than a threshold amount of force.

  • Publication number: 20050184533
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to shape memory alloy (“SMA”)-actuated release mechanisms for drive systems. In one embodiment, a SMA-actuated release mechanism includes at least one anchor point and a pivot point. The SMA-actuated release mechanism also includes a latch member pivotally coupled to the pivot point and configured to engage a drive member of a drive system. The SMA=actuated release mechanism further includes a SMA element having a first portion coupled to the least one anchor point and a second portion coupled to the latch member. Activation of the SMA element causes the latch member to pivot about the pivot point, such that the latch member disengages from the drive member.
