  • Patent number: 7077549
Abstract: A vehicle warning light system employs sensors associated with the brake and accelerator pedals to generate warning light signals at the front and rear of the vehicle to indicate whether the vehicle is in a coasting state, or is undergoing mild or severe deceleration. An electronic equivalent of the light signals is also generated and transmitted to a following vehicle which converts the electronic signals to corresponding light signals at the rear of the following vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6861931
Abstract: A system for remotely manipulating circuit breakers between open and closed conditions in an electrical panel having a number of circuit breakers in a vertical array includes an activator unit removably attachable to the panel and having an elongated shaft equipped with a series of control switches adjustably spaced apart to interact with the circuit breakers. A motorized drive feature achieves controlled axial rotation of the shaft to a sufficient extent to cause effective movement of selected circuit breakers. A wireless control unit activates the drive feature to rotate the shaft in either direction to move the circuit breakers to their open or closed positions.

  • Patent number: 6250978
Abstract: A waterjet drive engine for the propulsion of large ships includes an elongated water conduit having a rearwardly directed exhaust portal, a forward extremity having a water intake portal, and a middle portion of larger diameter than the diameter of the exhaust portal. A hollow axially symmetrical chamber is centrally positioned within the middle portion, defining therewith an annular interstitial zone through which ambient water is caused to flow. A shaft driven by the ship's power system extends into the chamber and is provided with a circular array of propulsion blades positioned within the interstitial zone and adapted to force water rearwardly. A plurality of nozzles enter the chamber and direct high pressure steam toward the exhaust portal. The effect of the steam is to add an augmenting force to the rotative motion of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5989082
Abstract: A propulsion system for a large, nuclear-powered ship includes a number of steam expansion thrusters rearwardly directed from the stern portion of the ship above the water line, a number of water jet drivers rearwardly directed from the stern portion below the water line, and a number of water jet thrusters downwardly directed from the hull portion of the ship. The frictional drag effect on the ship may be reduced by providing a curtain of air bubbles adapted to flow rearwardly in contact with the hull portion.

  • Patent number: 3942539
Abstract: An improved dental floss which comprises a length at one end that is of conventional dental floss construction and which comprises the remaining length being porous so that when pre-soaked, prior to use, in an antiseptic mouthwash solution, the antiseptic is delivered into remote crevices between the teeth as the floss is used, thus disinfecting these areas for an improved oral hygiene.
