  • Publication number: 20210403294
Abstract: A ceiling/overhead mounted delivery system includes a track configured to be mounted to a ceiling or overhead structure and extend in at least one of a first direction and a second orthogonal direction. A positioning tractor is attached to the track for motorized movement thereon. The delivery system may further include a delivery device, such as a selectively actuable germicidal light emitter. A third direction deployment module is coupled to the positioning tractor and the germicidal light emitter and is selectively adjustable to change a distance between the positioning tractor and the germicidal light emitter in a third direction. The third direction is substantially orthogonal to the first and second directions. A controller is configured to move the positioning tractor along the track, selectively operate the third direction deployment module to adjust the distance between the positioning tractor and the germicidal light emitter, and selectively actuate the germicidal light emitter.

  • Publication number: 20100171670
Abstract: The invention involves a radio frequency (RF) antenna, having both reduced size and optimized impedance matching to free space over a range of wavelengths. The invention also involves methods for hiding an antenna by reducing its size and concealing it behind or within an object that is transparent to electromagnetic waves over a range of wavelengths being transmitted or received by the antenna.

  • Publication number: 20070120736
Abstract: A method and system for discrete location triggering for enhanced asset management and tracking. The system includes an electronic discrete location tracking device affixed to the discrete location and configured to transmit a signal from the discrete location. The system also includes an electronic location trigger processing module to receive and process the signal transmitted by the discrete location tracking device into a location communication signal, wherein the electronic location trigger processing module is affixed to an asset whose discrete location and information are to be managed. The system also includes a remote client computer system operatively connected to the electronic location trigger processing module for exchanging information over a computer network.

  • Publication number: 20060202817
Abstract: In GPS based and other types of asset tracking system, event masking rules may be applied at asset tracking units and/or at a central station to determine whether to report events detected by the asset tracking units. The events may pertain to transportation vehicles such as truck trailers or cargo containers to which the asset tracking units are attached. The event masking rules may be defined at the central station and downloaded by satellite communication to the asset tracking units and/or the rules may be defined locally, at the asset tracking units.

  • Publication number: 20050200520
Abstract: A GPS receiver is activated and it is determined whether the GPS receiver has received within a first predetermined attempt period of time a set of GPS signals that is adequate to determine a location of the GPS receiver. If not, the GPS receiver is deactivated for a first delay period of time. The GPS receiver is then activated again and it is determined whether the GPS receiver has received a complete set of GPS signals within a second predetermined attempt period. If not, the GPS receiver is deactivated for a second delay period of time that is longer than the first delay period of time. The GPS receiver is then activated once more and again attempts to acquire a complete set of GPS signals.
