  • Patent number: 4069938
Abstract: A returnable shipping container includes top and bottom closure members each having inner indentations and an outer affixed metal member forming a peripheral slot with collapsible first and second body members formed to fit into the bottom and top slots and adjoining edges with aligned notches and tabs. A stabilizing insert fits into the indentations of the top and bottom closure members and the notches of the first and second body members.

  • Patent number: 4019637
Abstract: An improved single cavity packaging enclosure is provided for supporting and protecting an individual cathode ray tube. The enclosure is fabricated from a unitary sheet of foldable substantially rigid material and contains integral supportive structures, wherein discrete lip configurations effect beneficial positional retention of formed tube-supporting therein.

  • Patent number: 3955675
Abstract: An improved internal support is incorporated in a multipack container for accommodating a plurality of cathode ray tubes during transportation and storage. The multipack construction includes top and bottom rigid closure members formed of plastic material in conjunction with peripherally oriented and edge positioned support. The internal supportive construction of the invention is oriented within the multipack in a manner to effect vertical support between the closure members. This improved support is formed from a unitary sheet of rigid material having predefined folding-scores therein, which when folded, provide individual protective compartments for two cathode ray tubes. The unitary construction of this internal supportive along with the multiple folds of the integration, provide improved structural rigidity and enhanced protective characteristics.

  • Patent number: 3930579
Abstract: An improved multipack container is provided for accommodating a plurality of cathode ray tubes during transportation and storage. The altered construction includes basic top and bottom rigid closure members formed of flame retardant plastic material. Positioned peripherally therebetween are two substantially U-shaped edge-oriented areal support members, such being opposingly located between the superjacently related ledges of the respective closure members. Since the forward portions of the U-shaped supports do not meet, a beneficial window opening is provided on either side of the multipack structure. Internal supportive and protective structural means are predeterminately located between the closures in a manner spaced from the peripheral support members. Upon assembly of the multipack container and placement of the tubes therein, a tight covering of plastic material is applied to contiguously encompass the complete multipack to provide a unitized assemblage.
