Publication number: 20240159201Abstract: A monolithic heat exchanger body for inputting heat to a closed-cycle engine includes heating walls and heat sink, such as heat transfer regions. The heating walls are configured and arranged in an array of spirals or spiral arcs relative to a longitudinal axis of an inlet plenum. Adjacent portions of the heating walls respectively define corresponding heating fluid pathways fluidly communicating with the inlet plenum. At least a portion of the heat sink is disposed about at least a portion of the monolithic heat exchanger body. The heat sink includes working-fluid bodies including working-fluid pathways that have a heat transfer relationship with the heating fluid pathways. Respective ones of the heat transfer regions have a heat transfer relationship with a corresponding semiannular portion of the heating fluid pathways. Respective ones of the heat transfer regions include working-fluid pathways fluidly communicating between a heat input region and a heat extraction region.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2024Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventors: Joshua Tyler Mook, Kevin Michael VandeVoorde, Aigbedion Akwara, Michael Robert Notarnicola, Jason Joseph Bellardi, Mohammed El Hacin Sennoun, Mohamed Osama, Zachary William Nagel, Victor Luis Marrero Ortiz

Patent number: 10601784Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable obscuring a query from an external web service provider. More specifically, a user-submitted query is split into at least two non-identical, secondary search queries. The non-identical search queries are submitted to an external web services provider separately, at different times spread throughout a search timeframe, from different virtual locations, thereby obscuring the original search query from the external web services provider. An internal system receives and merges the search results of the non-identical secondary queries from the external web services provider. The internal system then performs a second search on the merged results using the original user-submitted search query to find the results within the merged results that are most relevant to the original query. These relevant results are then presented to the user.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2017Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: John A. Feller, Hank Ibell, William Lucy, Joseph Marrero Corchado

Patent number: 5786990Abstract: A voltage converter whose output voltage is determined by the duty cycle of at least one switch and which includes ripple steering circuitry, and a current source whose output current is determined by the duty cycle of at least one switch and which includes ripple steering circuitry. In some embodiments, the voltage converter includes at least one yoked switch pair, circuitry for controlling the duty cycle of the yoked switch pair, and ripple steering circuitry. Preferably, the voltage converter includes a transformer, an input side, an output side, and ripple steering circuitry implemented on the input side. Examples of voltage converters in the first class are forward converters, flyback converters, and full bridge forward converters.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1996Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Assignee: National Semiconductor CorporationInventor: Joseph Marrero
