  • Publication number: 20220265355
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and devices for performing computer-aided surgical navigation. Specifically, a system for augmented reality assisted trauma fixation, which displays various views of one or more tracked items, including a guide device, a fixation plate, a surgical tracking device, and an augmented reality display. The guide device having a tip, a handle, and a fixation guide. The fixation plate having at least one aperture designed to receive the tip of the guide. The surgical tracking device configured to track one or more trackable objects associated with the guide, fixation plate, and display, and thereby calculate a location of a fixation device, such as a screw, relative to the fixation plate.

  • Patent number: 11096726
Abstract: A multi-layer, fiber-reinforced composite orthopaedic fixation device having a design selected based on a desired characteristic of the orthopaedic fixation device. The design may be selected according to a model of the device, the model defining design constraints, and the design may comprise a pattern of the fiber angle for each layer. The selection of a design may be analyzed using finite element analysis to determine whether the design will comprise the desired characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20140252002
Abstract: The invention relates to a yard waste collection device that provides an efficient method to quickly collect, contain and bag yard debris, by allowing the operator to sweep the yard debris directly onto a series of stacked flat sheets or stacked, tarp-like bags attached to a mobile frame. The device (1) includes the combination of flat sheets or flat, tarp-like bags (15) with draw string or tape (13) and a frame (1) that contains, through an attachment mechanism, either a single or multiple flat sheets or tarp-like bags (15). The flat sheet or tarp-like bag can be easily removed from the frame once debris is raked into the sheet or bag by releasing the four tabs from the post on the frame and by pulling the four corners together. The draw string or tape (13) of the flat sheet or tarp-like bag is drawn up and the full sheet or bag is removed and transported as needed. The device is instantly ready to continue the collection because the next tarp-like bag (15) underneath the first bag is in place.

  • Patent number: 8617161
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are disclosed for treating fractures. The systems, devices and methods may include one or both of an implant, such as an intramedullary nail, and a fastening assembly, such as a lag screw and compression screw assembly. The implant in some embodiments has a proximal section with a transverse aperture and a cross-section that may be shaped to more accurately conform to the anatomical shape of cortical bone and to provide additional strength and robustness in its lateral portions, preferably without requiring significant additional material. The fastening assembly may be received to slide, in a controlled way, in the transverse aperture of the implant. In some embodiments, the engaging member and the compression device are configured so that the compression device interacts with a portion of the implant and a portion of the engaging member to enable controlled movement between the first and second bone fragments.
