  • Publication number: 20240165409
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to auditory nerve stimulation to create the perception of sound in the brain of a subject such as an animal or human being. In one form, a system includes an implantable electrode array including a plurality of spaced apart micro-needles. The system also includes a first electrical lead electrically coupled to and extending from the implantable electrode array, and an auditory signal device configured to produce one or more electrical signals representative of communications received from an external processor. An interposer is configured to electrically couple the implantable electrode array and the auditory signal device in an arrangement where one or more electrical signals produced by the auditory signal device may be transmitted through the first electrical lead to the implantable electrode array. Various novel stimulation strategies can be employed, such as place modulated stimulation signals.

  • Publication number: 20130055732
Abstract: An improved system for making ice for recreational use. The system using water de-gassed by double filtration. The de-gassed water removes the insulator factor from ice that causes ice dehydration, makes it possible to operate with ice at a temperature 2-3° F. above that of existing recreational ice facilities while maintaining a high quality sheet of ice, produces an ice that is denser, more resilient to cuts and ruts and produces less snow development, all while lowering your energy consumption, permits ice to freeze faster and shows all painted lines and logos in the ice with greater clarity, and reduces carbon footprint, and benefits from decreased labour and refrigeration costs.

  • Patent number: 7445258
Abstract: A power striker assembly effects final positioning of a vehicle closure member and includes a fixed frame and a striker member carried on a striker plate for selective engagement of a latch carried on the closure member, to displace the closure member from a presented position to a cinched position. Guide means interconnects the frame and striker plate to effect simultaneous translational and rotational displacement of the striker plate between end limits of travel to produce linear displacement of the striker member. An actuator selectively displaces the striker plate between its end limits of travel in response to a control signal. Finally, an interlock fixes the striker plate in the cinched position in the absence of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 6550825
Abstract: A cinching door latch has a fork bolt that pivots between a primary latched position and an unlatched position. A detent lever pivots between a an engaged position and a disengaged position holds the fork bolt in the primary latched position when in the engaged position and releases the fork bolt for movement to the unlatched position when in the disengaged position. A transfer lever pivots between a lock position and an unlock position is operatively connected to the detent lever for pivoting the detent lever to the disengaged position. A cinching mechanism assures that the fork bolt is pivoted to the primary latched position when the door is closed. The cinching mechanism has a cinching gear drivingly connected to the fork bolt, a power driven planetary gear set for driving the cinching gear, and a one-way device.

  • Patent number: 6061963
Abstract: A window regulator mechanism for raising and lowering a window that slides up and down in a hollow closure. The window regulator mechanism includes a base plate that supports a tape drive that pulls the window up and pulls the window down. The tape wraps around upper and lower rollers that rotate on axes that are substantially parallel to the length of the closure. Two slack take-up devices for the tape are disclosed. An alternate window regulator mechanism drives the tape with conformation and does not need any slack take-up.

  • Patent number: 6045168
Abstract: A vehicle door latch mechanism (10) having an improved double lock assembly (34). The present double lock assembly (34) is disposed between the latch handle assembly (30) and the latching assembly (26). In the un-double locked configuration, the double lock (34) allows motion transfer from the latch handle assembly (30) to the latching assembly (26) by extending the secondary intermittent member (36). In the double locked configuration, the double lock (34) retracts the secondary intermittent member (36) to prevent motion transfer between the latch handle assembly (30) and the latching assembly (26), preventing any unlatching of the door (12) even if the lock assembly (32) is in the unlocked configuration.

  • Patent number: 6022166
Abstract: A self locking forkbolt for pivoting the end of a pivoting seat back frame to a vehicle body includes a pin that is locked into a slot by the end of a hook that swings on a pivot axis across the slot, from an open to a closed position. A locking lever fixed to the hook moves with the hook, and a cam lever pivoted to the same pivot axis, located on to of the locking lever, has a striker edge that is engaged by the pin first as the pin is pushed into the slot. The force transfer connection between the cam lever and the hook/locking lever is indirect, consisting of a spring that is compressed by the pivoting cam lever to, in turn, push on the hook. The locking lever pops into a latched position as the hook swings closed, and the spring remains at least slightly compressed, reducing rattle of the pin within the slot.
