  • Publication number: 20240130688
Abstract: This relates to methods for measuring irregularities in a signal and corresponding devices. The devices can include a PPG sensor unit configured to detect multiple occurrences of a given event in the measured signal(s) over a sampling interval. In some instances, the device can register the occurrences of the events. In some examples, the device can include one or more motion sensors configured to detect whether the device is in a low-motion state. The device may delay initiating measurements when the device is not in a low-motion state to enhance measurement accuracy. Examples of the disclosure further include resetting the sample procedure based on one or more factors such as the number of non-qualifying measurements. In some examples, the device can be configured to perform both primary and secondary measurements, where the primary measurements can include readings using a set of operating conditions different from the secondary measurements.

Abstract: An orthopaedic aiming device system is provided that includes a targeting device. The targeting device has a curved portion with an end and at least one guide opening formed therethrough. The curved portion also defines an arced axis. Connected to the end of the curved portion is a mounting portion that has at least one mounting opening formed therethrough. The mounting opening defines a mounting axis that is approximately orthogonal to at least one point on the arced axis of the curved portion. The orthopaedic aiming device system can also include mounting pins, a positioning device, and an orthopaedic implant. The mounting pins can include distancing features that interact with distance locking features of the mounting opening(s) to properly distance the targeting device from the orthopaedic implant. Also included is a method to target implant openings that have compound angled screw trajectories using an orthopaedic aiming device system.

  • Publication number: 20120054952
Abstract: A stabilizer system facilitates assembly of portable toilets at any location without need for attachment of the portable toilet to rigid stationary. Two square or rectangular tubular runners, permanently attached to the portable toilet, provide structural stability. The two runners have apertures of substantially equal size. A master stake having an aperture at its proximal end is pounded into the ground so that the aperture extends above ground. A control arm is inserted through apertures of the two runners and the master stake aperture, such that the master stake aperture is set between the two runner apertures. The fulcrum denial feature provided by the master stake and control arm enhance structural stability of the unit. The portable toilet is secured to the ground without front to back or side-to-side movement or tipping due to denial of leverage caused by the incorporation of the master stake and control arm.

  • Patent number: 6086883
Abstract: Extracts of leaves of Ginkgo biloba contain at least 25% glycolipids by weight, preferably at least 1% cerebrosides including galactocerebroside. The extract has less than 50 ppm of ginkgolic acid. The extract is prepared by recovering a lipid fraction which is mixed with alcohol providing an alcoholic medium. The alcoholic medium is treated in a chromatographic column with a mixture of acetone and toluene to remove neutral lipids and ginkgolic acid, and subsequently the alcoholic solution in the column is further treated with a mixture of acetone and water to extract the glycolipids. The extracts have shown activity in cosmetic and skin care applications.

  • Patent number: 4021302
Abstract: Cell culture comprising a novel cell strain in suitable nutrient medium, wherein the novel cell strain is produced by disaggregated feline embryo tissue cell and serially passaging the same from about the 20th to about the 48th passage level, so as to be cultured and subcultured with the resultant cell strains remaining substantially diploid, typically fibroblastic and substantially free from morphological transformations. Subculturing is facilitated by treatment of a confluent sheet of the disaggregated cells chelating agent before each transfer into a new batch of nutrient medium.
