  • Patent number: 5570611
Abstract: A motion-transmitting remote control assembly of the type for transmitting motion along a curved path by a flexible motion-transmitting core element (12) movably supported in a conduit (14) with a slug (20) secured to a first end of the core element and a terminal for transferring forces between the core element and a control member (24), such as a brake actuator, and a method of fabricating the assembly. The terminal includes a connector (26) for connection to the control member (24), an abrasion-resistant sleeve (48) in sliding engagement with the core element (12) and for abutting engagement with the slug, and a vibration isolating member (30) supporting the sleeve (48) within the connector(26) to transmit forces from the slug (20) to the sleeve (48) and through the vibration member (30) and through the connector (26) to the control member while dampening vibrations between the core element and the control member.

  • Patent number: 5546827
Abstract: A motion-transmitting remote control assembly including a conduit (14) movably supporting a flexible core element (10) with support fittings (16 and 18) disposed at each end of the conduit (14). A wiper cap (26) is supported for swivelling movement on a ball (24). The assembly is distinguished by a wiper-retainer (40) disposed about the core element (10) and a boot (42) having its ends (44 and 46) in tight gripping engagement with the wipers (26 and 40). In other words, a boot (42) extending between and supported by two core element wipers.

  • Patent number: 5138898
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control cable assembly (10) includes a single piece junction box body (26) and a lid (30) having self-locking tangs, for automatically locking into engagement with the body upon the application of a compressive coupling force to the lid (30) and the body (26) for retaining the enlarged end (16) of a first core element (12) and the enlarged ends (16) of at least two other core elements (18,20). This junction box assembly (10) allows push-pull forces to be transmitted between the first core element (12) and the other core elements (18,20) in a confined environment.

  • Patent number: 5003838
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly of the type for transmitting forces along a curved path by a flexible motion transmitting core element. The assembly (10) includes a conduit (16) with a male end fitting (20) molded at one end, which engages with a female end fitting (30). The female end fitting (30) includes a conduit (38) and attaches to a support structure (90). Splining (24, 32) is provided on the engaging portions of the male end fitting (20) and the female end fitting (30) to allow for precise rotational adjustment and locking between the male end fitting (20) and the female end fitting (30).
