  • Patent number: 8631819
Abstract: A gas supply system includes a receiver assembly, a gas storage vessel coupled to the receiver assembly, a main poppet positioned at an end of the gas storage vessel and sealing the gas storage vessel when the main poppet is closed, a pilot poppet positioned in the main poppet and sealing the gas storage vessel when the pilot poppet is closed, and a chamber positioned behind the main poppet, wherein when the pilot poppet opens, gas from the gas storage vessel is released into the chamber to exert pressure on the main poppet to open the main poppet.

  • Patent number: 8205630
Abstract: A method for assembling and adjusting a pressure setting of a valve includes positioning a threaded spider and a poppet spring on a poppet, mounting a valve body into an assembly fixture, inserting the poppet including the threaded spider and the poppet spring positioned thereon into the mounted valve body, pushing an adjusting fork through the assembly fixture and through the valve body, engaging the threaded spider with the adjusting fork, and flowing pressurized fluid into the assembly fixture while simultaneously rotating the adjusting fork in a direction to draw the threaded spider into the valve body and to compress the poppet spring.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 26, 2012
    Assignee: Ausco, Inc.
    Inventor: Joseph R. McKee
  • Patent number: 7967039
Abstract: A valve system includes a source of pressurized fluid comprising an orifice through which the pressurized fluid flows away from the source, and a poppet comprising a groove and a seal positioned in the groove, wherein the seal plugs the orifice when the poppet is in a closed position, and wherein the poppet and the seal move through the orifice against a flow of the pressurized fluid to allow the pressurized fluid to flow through the orifice and away from the source. The seal may include an O-ring.

  • Patent number: 7891350
Abstract: A gas supply system for store ejection from a vehicle comprises a receiver assembly, a compressor connected to the receiver assembly, and a gas storage vessel removably coupled to the receiver assembly, wherein the gas storage vessel is capable of receiving and storing pressurized gas from the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20100078081
Abstract: A valve comprises a valve body including an inlet through which fluid flows into the valve, a main valve including a main poppet positioned in the valve body and including a chamber therein, wherein the fluid flows into the chamber, a pilot valve including a pilot poppet positioned within the main valve and including a discharge port through which the fluid flows out of the chamber, a main poppet spring biased to force the main poppet closed in the absence of flow of the fluid into the valve, a pilot poppet spring biased to keep the discharge port open, and a plurality of bi-metal disks located within the chamber. The plurality of bi-metal disks curl at a predetermined temperature of the fluid to compress the pilot poppet spring and close the discharge port. As a result, the fluid is prevented from flowing out of the chamber and fluid pressure between the chamber and the inlet is equalized to close the main poppet.
