  • Patent number: 11948738
Abstract: A solenoid is provided. The solenoid includes a housing, a pole piece, an end plate formed with or coupled to the housing, a wire coil arranged within the housing, a permanent magnet arranged between the pole piece and the end plate, an armature configured to selectively move between a first position and a second position in response to a current applied to the wire coil, and a spring configured to bias the armature. When the wire coil is de-energized, the armature is maintained in at least one of the first position and the second position. The first position is configured to be maintained by the spring and the second position is configured to be maintained by magnetic attraction between the armature and the permanent magnet through engagement between the armature and the pole piece.

  • Patent number: 8868734
Abstract: A method, performed by a computer device, may include scanning a network of digital cross connect devices to identify an open port and determining that the identified open port has been designated as unavailable in a provisioning database. The method may further include determining that the identified open port corresponds to a recoverable port and recovering the identified open port by designating the identified open port as available in the provisioning database, in response to determining that the identified open port corresponds to a recoverable port.

  • Publication number: 20060109110
Abstract: A device for monitoring movement of an object is provided. A first module is configured to secure to the object. A second module, capable of electrically connecting to the first module, includes at least a rechargeable battery and a memory capable of storing a history of movement data. A third module, capable of electrically connecting with the second module, includes a data modem capable of connecting to a remote station, and a battery charger. When the second module is connected to the first module, the memory periodically records available location data representing a position of the device at the time of recording. When the second module is connected to the third module, the memory downloads through the data modem and the battery charger charges the battery.

  • Patent number: 6114373
Abstract: The invention involves a novel chemical compound, N-acetyl-5,6-dimethoxytryptamine (compound I), which can also be defined as a melatonin derivative. The molecular weight of compound I is 262 and the chemical structure is as follows. ##STR1## Compound I possesses potent in vitro and in vivo free radical scavenging capacity and exhibits protective effects against convulsions and brain damage induced by oxidative stress. It holds potential clinical usage for preventing and treating diseases which involve free radicals and oxidative stress.

  • Patent number: 4167079
Abstract: A trimming fence comprised of individual modules each having a pair of planar parallel surfaces and sidewalls forming the V shape end. Each sidewall is formed by intersecting planar surfaces forming a V including an obtuse angle. The planar surfaces of the sidewalls converging at a linear edge at the apex of the V, the edge having a V shaped outline which is in a plane at an angle other than a right angle to the parallel planar surfaces of the member.
