  • Patent number: 11394669
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for assisting participation in a social network. In one aspect, a method is performed by a system of one or more data processing devices. The method includes receiving, at the system, a historical record of message exchange between an individual and members in a member network, the system determining, for each of the members, whether the individual is likely to want to be related to the respective member, each determination considering the number and transactional characteristics of the message exchange between the individual and the respective member in the historical record, and the system outputting the determinations that the individual is likely to want to be related to at least two of the respective members.

  • Publication number: 20170329467
Abstract: The technology described herein is capable of generating and presenting graphical user interfaces for displaying shared content, configuring space objects (also simply called spaces), posting digital content items to various spaces, inviting other users to contribute digital content items to various spaces, forking digital content items posted in one space or post object to another space or post object, contextual searching, posting rich comments in association with a post including graphical and textual data, and so forth. Further, the technology may provide suggestive search based on the spaces associated with a user, generate and exchange data with other nodes on a computer network, generate notification data including notifications reflecting updates posted to spaces by various users, and coalesce related comments to reduce number of notifications that each user receives and/or through which a user may have to navigate or scroll through.

  • Publication number: 20060075116
Abstract: A system and method for converting continuous data streams received over a persistent communication connection (e.g., for Telnet) into discrete requests that may be issued over non-persistent connections (e.g., via HTTP). An application is served from a J2EE-compliant application server, to clients operating a variety of communication protocols (e.g., HTTP, Telnet). The application is developed according to a single application model, but can be served to heterogeneous clients. The application communicates via a request/response format (e.g., HTTP), thereby requiring clients communicating via other formats or protocols (e.g., Telnet) to connect to the application via one or more other components of the application server. Illustratively, the application server includes a Telnet resource adapter for maintaining persistent communication connections with Telnet clients, and an EJB (Enterprise Java Bean) configured to discretize continuous Telnet data streams into discrete application requests.

The application is developed according to a single application model, but can be served to heterogeneous clients. The application communicates via a request/response format (e.g., HTTP), thereby requiring clients communicating via other formats or protocols (e.g., Telnet byte streams) to connect to the application via one or more other components of the application server. Illustratively, the application server includes a Telnet resource adapter for maintaining persistent communication connections with Telnet clients, and an EJB (Enterprise Java Bean) configured to discretize continuous Telnet data streams into discrete application requests.
