  • Publication number: 20240163541
Abstract: The present teachings provide an image head with a housing, an integrated sensor and lens assembly (ISLA), a port, and componentry. The housing has a front side a rear side located opposite the front side; a top side located between the front side and the rear side; and a bottom side located opposite the top side and between the front side and the rear side. The ISLA extends from the front side and is configured to detect images. The port is located on the rear side that is configured to electrically connect the image head to a base when the image head is inserted into the base. The internal componentry has a printed circuit board in communication with an integrated sensor of the ISLA and a memory located on the printed circuit board and configured to store the images. The internal componentry controls the image head.

  • Publication number: 20140208306
Abstract: A component software management system for a machine is disclosed. The component software management system has a software driven component located on-board the machine, a data system located off-board the machine, and a data system controller in communication with the software driven component and the data system. The data system controller is configured to detect a software or hardware mismatch, send a mismatch notification to the data system, and determine a current software update. The component software management system may then derive, from the current software update, a software calibration file, transmit the software calibration file, and install the software calibration file on the software driven component.

  • Publication number: 20140089061
Abstract: At least one embodiment relates to a mobile computing device having a processor programmed to take a plurality of food orders and programmed to aggregate these food orders into a single scannable source of information such as a 2D barcode. There can be a scanner such as a bar code scanner or a near field communicator configured to read this scannable source of information. There can also be a microprocessor in a computing device which is configured to read from the scanner a scanned aggregated order at a point of purchase location, wherein that microprocessor is programmed and configured to de-aggregate an order from this scanned communication. There can also be a transceiver is configured to send this de-aggregated information. There can also be a point of sale computing device 80 having a processor 81 configured to read this de-aggregated information and to ring up a scanned aggregated order to create an order for a purchase.

  • Publication number: 20120136507
Abstract: A system for controlling operation of at least one machine at a worksite includes controls operable under the control of a first entity to operate a first machine to perform one or more tasks at the worksite. The system may also include a portable communication device having a user interface operable to receive a machine-stop command from a second entity. The portable communication device may be operable to transmit a machine-stop signal in response to receiving the machine-stop command from the second entity. The system may also include at least one information processor configured to stop the first machine in response to the transmission of the machine-stop signal from the portable communication device.

  • Patent number: 5445964
Abstract: A method is provided for precisely and concurrently measuring dynamic engine oil consumption and fuel consumption within an internal combustion engine on a real-time basis. Nonradioactive organo- bromine or chlorine compounds are added to the oil in small amounts in their natural isotopic abundance or enriched. Upon complete combustion, the bromine or chlorine is converted into hydrogen bromide (HBr) or hydrogen chloride (HCl), respectively. A tunable diode laser spectrometer is used to determine the trace amounts of the resultant HBr or HCl in the exhaust gases, which continuously flows through a sample cell by the use of a sample line that allows the unimpeded transport of samples, reduces the pressure of the exhaust gas and maintains it at a suitable level for analysis, and prevents the condensation of water vapor in the exhaust gas so as to prevent the dissolution of the tracer compounds in the water condensate.

  • Patent number: 4747121
Abstract: A slide projector control module and control system to operate one or more slide projectors located at one or more different locations, each slide projector having a slide tray and being connected with the control module. Conventional telephone lines are used to connect each slide projector and each module at each location for viewing the same slide at all locations. Slide projectors at all locations are capable of being rendered operative and the slide projector is operative only at its location with its associated control module when properly selected. Each module includes switches to connect and disconnect the remote and local projector from a key pad which provides touch tone signals capable of being muted from telephone lines. The control system is operable from a local or remote site to permit conferences to discuss a series of visuals and to recall the visuals as needed at each site of a multi-site and/or multi-person conference.

  • Patent number: 3970509
Abstract: An ultrasonic horn cooperates with a cutting wheel and two stitching wheels to simultaneously cut, seal and stitch thermoplastic material. The cutting and stitching wheels are urged towards the ultrasonic horn by a spring biased pivot arm upon which the wheels are rotatably mounted. The combination of ultrasonic horn, wheels and pivot arm define a cutting assembly. The entire cutting assembly is connected to the reciprocating rod of a piston which alternately lowers the cutting assembly into a cutting position wherein the material to be cut is located between the horn tip and the wheels, and raises the cutting assembly into a return position wherein the material to be cut is below and out of contact with the cutting assembly.
