Abstract: A combination of a development inhibitor releasing coupler having a particular releasable mercaptotetrazole group; a concentration within the range of 2.5 to 25 mg/m.sup.2, that does not accelerate bleaching of the element upon exposure and processing, of a dye-forming naphtholic or acetanilide coupler comprising a coupling-off group represented by the formula ##STR1## as described in the specification, with a particular alkoxy-benzoyl yellow dye-forming coupler also as described in the specification in a photographic silver halide element and process enables improved dye images upon exposure and processing.

Abstract: This invention provides a method of preparing a silver halide photographic emulsion which comprises adding to the silver halide emulsion a solid particle dispersion of a non-labile chalcogen compound represented by Formula I:R.sup.1 --X.sup.1 --X.sup.2 --R.sup.2 (Formula I)It further provides a silver halide photographic emulsion prepared by the above method.

Abstract: A method of forming an image is disclosed in which chemically active toner particles are used to trigger image amplification chemistry after their attraction to an electrostatic charge pattern.The method of forming an image comprises applying electrographic toner particles to a charge pattern on a support followed by a chemical amplification processing step comprising heating the toner image in the presence of an image-receiving element comprising:(a) a cobalt(III) complex capable of releasing an amine on processing, and(b) an amplifier which, on reaction with an amine:(i) forms a dye or dye precursor, or(ii) reduces the cobalt(III) complex, resulting in the release of additional amine,said toner comprising an activator which, under the conditions of processing releases an amine either directly or indirectly.

Abstract: Imaging means, such as a tetrazolium salt, capable of reduction to form a visible image is present in a radiation-sensitive layer in combination with a photoreductant incorporating one or more labile hydrogen atoms and capable of producing a reducing agent precursor in radiation-struck areas of the layer. An image is produced in the layer by processing the layer after imagewise exposure to actinic radiation.
