Abstract: It is often necessary to manipulate or extend a tongue in order to perform an operation on the tongue or inside the mouth. The apparatus and method claimed provide non-slip surfaces which are attached to a user's finger and thumb, and which are maintained in an optimal predetermined physical relationship to each other so that the apparatus may be easily attached to the user's finger and thumb, and so that a positive and comfortable contact with the tongue is achieved. Thereby, the tongue may be manipulated or restrained in any position, even fully extended.
