  • Patent number: 10696181
Abstract: This disclosure describes vehicle systems and methods for controlling charging of an auxiliary (i.e., low voltage) battery of an electrified vehicle. Exemplary charging methods may dynamically adjust a low voltage setpoint of a power converter during the low voltage support. The proposed systems and methods therefore achieve constrained low voltage support by controlling the power drawn by the power converter at an appropriate level during the low voltage support.

  • Patent number: 10124789
Abstract: A current sensor fault detection system is disclosed which enables detection of a current sensor fault while the current sensor is operating and providing a current sensor output which is within a normal operating range. The current sensor is monitored by at least one controller which compares a change in battery state of charge error with a predetermined threshold. The change in battery state of charge error is a difference between a first change in battery state of charge calculated by integrating battery current with respect to a time and a second change in battery state of charge calculated based on the battery open circuit voltage during the time.

  • Patent number: 10112487
Abstract: A system using a computer to be configured to perform particular actions by virtue of having software, firmware, hardware, or a combination installed. One aspect includes a system, programmed to receive a fault signal from an auxiliary battery sensor. The system also determines if a low voltage set point is greater than the main battery voltage, and sends an open switch signal to a battery isolation switch if the low voltage set point is greater than the main battery voltage value. The system will send an auxiliary set point signal to an auxiliary battery charger to maintain a low voltage. The system will receive a current signal from an auxiliary battery sensor to indicate an auxiliary battery current value. The system also determines if the auxiliary battery current is above a maximum current value, and send a disable auxiliary battery maintenance signal to the auxiliary battery charger.
