  • Patent number: 10007872
Abstract: A media processing system is arranged to process image receiving media under predetermined physical conditions. The system includes a scheduler arranged to schedule jobs to be processed in the system and to calculate predicted timings (T0) at which media will have to be ready for processing and to indicate the predicted timings on a user interface. The system further includes a buffer in which a supply of media that has been received from a first environment is kept in a specified second environment before being processed. The scheduler is configured to calculate an acclimatization time required for the media to acquire the predetermined physical conditions by being kept in the second environment in the buffer, and to calculate and indicate a predicted timing (T1) at which the media should be present in the sheet buffer at the latest in view of the calculated acclimatization time.

  • Publication number: 20170300272
Abstract: A print job processing system includes a printer; a user interface; a job file receiving section; and a media management system adapted to extract media specifications from a received job file and check the media specifications for compatibility with properties and/or a current status of the printer. The media management system is adapted to check whether essential media specifications are defined in the job file or not and, when they are not defined, to invite the user via the user interface to complete the specifications.

  • Patent number: 9710208
Abstract: A method for visualizing relationships between a source and target view includes displaying in the source view a source widget representing a source object; detecting a user interaction event for the source widget; sharing a message including a reference to or at least part of the source object; displaying in the target view a target widget representing a target object; reading by a target device that displays the target view the shared message; determining the existence of a relationship between the source and target object by looking-up in a storage the referenced or the at least part of the source object from the shared message; and updating the target view by changing the visual appearance if a relationship has been determined. The source and target object each are one of a printable object, a reprographic device or component thereof, and a property or status of any of the these.

  • Patent number: 9656480
Abstract: A printing system includes a storage unit, a print unit and a control unit. The storage unit includes a print media catalog including a list of print media, each print medium in the list having a plurality of media attribute values characterizing the print medium, and each print medium categorized in at least one group based on at least one media attribute value. The print unit includes a print head for ejecting marking material on a print medium of the list. The control unit is configured to control the printing on a print medium of the list according to a plurality of optimization parameters, an optimization parameter being related to the at least one media attribute value used for categorization in a group of the at least one group. Upon receipt of a value of a particular optimization parameter for a print medium categorized in a particular group of the at least one group, the received value is automatically propagated to other print media categorized in the same particular group.
