    Abstract: The disclosed simulation environment, methods, and system support simultaneous design and analysis of assemblies with unified computer aided design (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA). The system provides a simulation environment that is unified with the architecture of the assembly environment, which significantly reduces the amount of time it takes to set up structural simulations as compared to prior simulation tools. The system enables CAD designers to obtain accurate mechanical guidance such as strength and rigidity early and often in the design process, seeing the structural impact of CAD modifications at the sketch, part, and configuration level. Such guidance can be particularly helpful when CAD engineers are determining product fit and form, defining dimensions, and shaping the overall weight and volume of designs.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for shifting, orienting, organizing, and/or routing objects including parcels and packages. In different aspects, the systems can shift objects, re-orient the objects, e.g., based on dimensions and/or geometries, and then can deposit the objects into transport receptacles used for additional shifting, organizing, and/or routing. In one aspect, an object-orienting mechanism includes a pivot-assembly having a plurality of pivoting-extensions, e.g., that can be independently rotated into different positions, e.g., to manipulate a package. In another aspect, a bin for holding objects includes a base, a plurality of sidewalls extending from the base, and a releasing mechanism that is adjustable into different configurations. In another aspect, a method of re-orienting objects onto a side of smallest dimension or cross-section is provided. This can be used to increase the efficiency of processing objects, e.g., in a logistics network operation.

The memory includes instructions such that the one or more processors are programmed to receive at least one of Red-Green-Blue (RGB) image data or infrared (IR) image data from one or more cameras communicatively connected to the one or more processors, where the RGB image data and the IR image data represents an environment including at least one individual disposed along a support surface. The one or more processors receive annotated depth image data that corresponds to the RGB image data and the IR image data. The one or more processors train a neural network with at least one of the RGB image data and the IR image data corresponding to the annotated depth image data, where the neural network is trained to predict when the individual is exiting the support surface.

    Abstract: A device and related method are provided for assisting visually impaired persons obtain verbal information from consumer product bar codes. The devices includes a scanner unit, a processing unit, a power unit and a voice synthesizer. The method involves the person scanning the bar code of the product with the scanner unit to provide a first signal which is communicated to the processing unit for locating, retrieving and outputting product information corresponding to the bar code in a form for the voice synthesizer to generate a verbal output to convey the information to the person. The bar code may be raised to assist the visually impaired person in locating the exact location of the bar code to facilitate scanning thereof. The device and the method provide the visually impaired person with a level of information that about the product that is not normally obtained without the assistance of another person.
