Patents by Inventor Joshua E. Goldberger

Joshua E. Goldberger has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20170224833
Abstract: Disclosed are compositions that contain a plurality of biocompatible self-assembling molecules that transform from isolated molecules or spherical micelles while in blood serum into cylindrical nanofibers in the acidic extracellular environment of tumors, which can be used to achieve a higher relative concentration of imaging drug delivery, or radiotherapeutic agents at the tumor site compared to non-tumor tissues. This transition is rapid and reversible, indicating the system is in thermodynamic equilibrium.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 7, 2015
    Publication date: August 10, 2017
Inventors: Joshua E. Goldberger, Michael F. Tweedle
  • Publication number: 20140363378
Abstract: Disclosed are compositions that contain a plurality of biocompatible self-assembling molecules that transform from isolated molecules or spherical micelles in the circulation into cylindrical nanofibers in the acidic extracellular environment of tumors which can be used to achieve a higher relative concentration of imaging, drug delivery, or radiotherapeutic agents at the tumor site compared to non-tumor tissues. This transition is rapid and reversible, indicating the system is in thermodynamic equilibrium.

  • Patent number: 8748569
Abstract: The present invention is directed to peptide amphiphile compounds, compositions and methods of use, wherein nanofiber bundling or epitope aggregation is inhibited. In certain embodiments, the peptide amphiphiles of the present invention have increased solubility and reduced nanofiber bundling. The molecules may be used in pharmaceutical applications, for example for in vivo administration to human patients, by increasing biological activity of the compositions toward neurite outgrowth and nerve regeneration.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 9, 2012
Date of Patent: June 10, 2014
    Assignee: Northwestern University
Inventors: Samuel I. Stupp, Joshua E. Goldberger, Eric J. Berns
