  • Patent number: 10019491
Abstract: A machine learning of response selection to structured data input enables a machine to flexibly and responsively actively engage with a response recipient through a device, such as any electronic device connected to a data network. In at least one embodiment, the response selection module improves response selection to the structure data input by initially filtering a library of templates to identify candidate templates that best respond to the input. In at least one embodiment, the response selection module ranks the identified candidate templates to provide the response to the device. The response selection module learns by receiving feedback, such as a linked recipient action result signal.

  • Patent number: 10013654
Abstract: A supervised learning processing (SLP) system and non-transitory, computer program product provides cooperative operation of a network of supervised learning processors to concurrently distribute supervised learning processor training, generate predictions, and provide prediction driven responses to input objects, such as NL statements. The SLP system includes SLP stages that are distributed across multiple SLP subsystems. Concurrently training SLP's provides accurate predictions of input objects and responses thereto, the SLP system and non-transitory, computer program product enhance the network by providing high quality value predictions and responses and avoiding potential training and operational delays. The SLP system can enhance the network of SLP subsystems by providing flexibility to incorporate multiple SLP models into the network and train at least a proper subset of the SLP models while concurrently using the SLP system and non-transitory, computer program product in commercial operation.

  • Patent number: 9746091
Abstract: An exercisable check valve having a fluid delivery test channel and piston closure is disclosed herein. A valve closure member stops flow through the valve in the presence of backwards pressure or when engaged by the piston. The valve may be tested by applying a pressure source to the fluid delivery test channel to cause the piston to engage the valve closure member and stop flow through the valve. A test rod may then be inserted into a test rod port to ensure the valve closure member is in the proper closed position. The check valve may also include a biasing element to bias the valve closure member to an open position and a drainage channel. The check valve may be used in any piping or valve system.

  • Patent number: 8758140
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for methods of providing a gaming experience including an in-game viral invite mechanic. In accordance with the present system, inviting others to join in the playing of a game is an objective of the game itself. Thus, a user is encouraged by the game to invite his or her friends, who are in turn encouraged to invite their friends, etc., so that a game may cascade pyramid-fashion to a potentially huge viral fan-out.

  • Publication number: 20090265604
Abstract: A method for presenting a graphical representation of the strength or vitality of a contact's social network is disclosed. When a user pulls up a graphical user interface displaying contacts in his or her social network, in addition to the traditional profile data for each contact, a virtual object may be displayed. The virtual object for a contact may be displayed in different ways, depending on the strength of the contact's social network. Thus, a user may access a contact in their social network and, by viewing the social network virtual object, quickly and easily get a sense of the strength and vitality of that contact's social network.

  • Patent number: 7507157
Abstract: An indication of actions by participants taking part in an interactive environment that can represent peripheral information or tells (i.e., not essential to participating in the environment) are communicated to computing devices used by other participants in the interactive environment. Each such action or behavior being monitored is associated with a corresponding indicator. After one of the additional behaviors is detected, the corresponding indicator can be presented to another participant by a computing device used by the other participant. Thus, the other participant may perceive, and respond to the peripheral behavior. For example, if the interactive environment is a card game, a player's act in reordering cards that are held, counting chips, moving the input device in a spurious manner, and other such behaviors are indicated to other players. Receiving indicators of these behaviors enables other players to respond to these behaviors, making the interactive environment more like playing face-to-face.
