  • Publication number: 20110032340
Abstract: A method for crosstalk compensation of stereoscopic images for three-dimensional projection is disclosed. The method can be used for producing a stereoscopic presentation containing stereoscopic image pairs that incorporate density or brightness adjustments to at least partially compensate for crosstalk contributions from images exhibiting differential distortion.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 29, 2010
    Publication date: February 10, 2011
Inventors: William Gibbens Redmann, Mark J. Huber, Joshua Pines
  • Publication number: 20110019167
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for producing a color-corrected stereoscopic film for three-dimensional (3D) projection. Based on color measurements performed with different optical configurations of a projection system, at least one dye density adjustment can be determined for reducing discoloration in projected stereoscopic images that arises from one or more optical components in the projection system.

    Publication date: January 27, 2011
Inventors: Joshua Pines, William Gibbens Redmann, Mark J. Huber
  • Publication number: 20110007132
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for brightness correction for use in three-dimensional (3D) projection of film-based or digital images. Based on brightness information for a projection system, brightness adjustment can be provided, which can be used for correcting brightness disparity in stereoscopic images for 3D projection.

  • Publication number: 20100220971
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, apparatus and system for providing reproducible digital imagery products from captured image content and for the color correction of the reproducible digital imagery products. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a log video signal comprising at least density values for the contrast levels of the original image content for enabling a quantitative assessment of the image content information for providing repeatable and reproducible values from which a cinematographer/director of photography could order the color correction or adjustment of the image content in a reproducible manner understood device by a color correction specialist or “timer”.

  • Publication number: 20090201367
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, apparatus and system for the transfer of motion picture film to reproducible digital imagery products such as digital dailies. In one embodiment of the present invention, a scanning device provides a log video signal representation of received film content, the log video signal including at least grey scale values of the colors of the received film content for enabling a quantitative assessment of the film content exposure information for providing repeatable and reproducible values from which a cinematographer/director of photography could order the color correction or adjustment of the film content in a reproducible manner understood by a color correction specialist or “timer”.

  • Publication number: 20090086100
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, apparatus and system for the transfer of a digital video content captured by a digital motion picture camera (310) to reproducible digital imagery products such as digital dailies. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a log video signal of said digital video content using information regarding the dynamic range of at least one of said digital video content or said digital camera. Said log video signal comprises at least grey scale values of the colors of the original video content for enabling a quantitative assessment of the video content capture information for providing repeatable and reproducible values from which a cinematographer/director of photography could order the color correction or adjustment of the video content in a reproducible manner understood by a color correction specialist or “timer”.

  • Publication number: 20070268411
Abstract: A method presents metadata that is used for determining the color correction processes to be performed on image data representing a sequence of moving images (705). Instructions in the metadata controls how many color corrections are to be performed and when such operations occur. The image data is then subjected to the specified color correction operations that are performed at specified times and in a determined order (710). The image data is then rendered as a series of images (715) by a rendering device. Optionally, different regions of the image data may be subjected to different color correction operations.
