  • Publication number: 20140163324
Abstract: A seal anchor member has opposing ends that define a longitudinal axis. The seal anchor member is adapted to transition between an expanded condition and a compressed condition to facilitate securing of the seal anchor member within a tissue tract in a substantially sealed relationship. The seal anchor member includes a biasing member positioned along the longitudinal axis. The biasing member is configured and adapted to facilitate the transition between the expanded and compressed conditions. The seal anchor member further includes at least one lumen extending through the seal anchor member for slidably receiving a surgical instrument.

  • Patent number: 8734730
Abstract: The presently disclosed debris collection system includes an elongate body having a first end, a second end, and a bore extending therethrough. The first end of the elongate body is hermetically closed while the second end has an opening. The elongated body is made of an impermeable material. A cap fixed to the elongated body and has a bore extending therethrough. A port, which is attached to the cap, is designed for introducing fluid into the elongated body. A watertight seal, such as a gasket, is attached to the cap. The seal is also made of an impermeable material. In operation, a liquid is introduced into the debris collection system. A surgical tool must then be introduced into the system. Thereafter, a vortex is created within the system to debride debris from the surgical tool.

  • Patent number: 8617206
Abstract: Biocompatible wound closure devices including an elongate body and a plug member are useful for wound repair. A wound closure device includes an elongate body defining a longitudinal axis and having a proximal end and a distal end, and a plug member having a tissue facing surface and including a first shaped section and a second shaped section, each of the first and second shaped sections having an abutment surface. The first and second shaped sections are movable about a hinge between a collapsed position in which the abutment surfaces extend away from the longitudinal axis of the elongate body and a deployed position in which the abutment surfaces abut and are substantially aligned with the longitudinal axis of the elongate body, the abutment surfaces controlling a deployed angle of the tissue facing surface of the plug member with respect to the elongate body.
