    Abstract: A plasma display apparatus with low power consumption and high speed response is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes: a plasma display panel driven by discharge sustain voltage in the form of pulses; an analog-digital converter digitizing image signal inputted from the external; a plasma display panel drive unit converting the digitized image signal into scanning pulses and data pulses driving the plasma display panel and outputting these pulses to the plasma display panel; a power supply unit supplying the discharge sustain voltage to the plasma display panel drive unit; and a controlling unit adjusting the output gain of the analog-digital converter in response to the variation of the output voltage of the power supply unit. With this plasma display apparatus, it is possible to quickly respond and reduce the power consumption occurring when the plasma display panel displays the high luminance of image signal.

    Abstract: A universal serial bus (USB) power control device includes a universal serial bus control circuit for controlling mutual information transmitted between a computer and its peripheral devices, using data and clocking signals transmitted from a display, a DC--DC converter for processing a power supplied from the display in order to provide an operational power to the universal serial bus control circuit and the peripheral devices, and a universal serial bus power control circuit for detecting a power supplied to the DC--DC converter from the display. If the power supplied from the monitor to the universal serial bus control circuit is abnormal, the abnormal power supplied from the monitor is replaced by normal power supplied from the computer and a message is displayed on the monitor so that a user can recognize that a power supply supplying power to the universal serial bus has failed.

    Abstract: A method for displaying the used time of a video processing apparatus. If the power of the video processing apparatus is turned on, the total used time of the video processing apparatus is read from a memory and the presently elapsing time is counted accumulatively to the read total used time. Then, the total used time accumulatively counted up to the present is displayed for a predetermined time period. When the predetermined time period has elapsed, the total used time display operation is stopped and it is checked whether a used time display function is turned on by the user. If the used time display function is turned on by the user, the total used time accumulatively counted up to the present time is displayed and it is checked whether the used time display function is turned off by the user. If the used time display function is turned off by the user, the total used time display operation is stopped and it is checked whether the power of the video processing apparatus is turned off.
