    Abstract: A system implementing a method for multi-band wireless communication packetizes a block of source video information into a first packet, and packetizes the block of source video information into a second packet corresponding to the first packet, wherein the first packet and the second packet include corresponding video information. The first packet and the second packet are transmitted from a transmitting multi-band wireless station comprising a first radio for communication over a first wireless band, and a second radio for communication over a second wireless band. The first packet is transmitted over the first wireless band and the second packet is transmitted over the second wireless band. The first wireless band operates at a higher transmission rate than the second wireless band. A multi-band receiving wireless station reconstructs the source video based on packets arriving on different bands.

Upon sensing a signal on a wireless channel from a wireless white space device that transmits a unique device identifier, interference by the wireless white space device on the wireless channel is determined. A report of the channel interference by the wireless white space device is generated and may be utilized to cease the interference.

    Abstract: A method and system for transmission of video information is provided. A transmitting wireless station performs chroma partitioning of pixels in a video frame into different partitions. The chroma partitioning includes separating luminance (Y) information from chrominance information (CB and CR) of each pixel in a set of spatially correlated pixels. The luminance (Y) information are placed into different partitions. The different partitions into different packets and transmitted over a wireless communication medium to a receiving wireless station. The video information is selectively adapted to a lower data transmission rate with reduced quality degradation by dropping less important partitions.

    Abstract: Communication of stereoscopic three dimensional (3D) video information. One embodiment comprises wireless communication of stereoscopic 3D video information including an uncompressed first eye view video frame and a corresponding stereoscopic uncompressed second eye view video frame, from a transmitting wireless station to a receiving wireless station. In one embodiment, a set of pixels in an uncompressed first eye view video frame is transmitted over a wireless communication medium. Pixel information in a set of pixels in an uncompressed second eye view video frame corresponding to the first eye view set of pixels is reduced to generate a reduced set of pixels. The reduced set of pixels is transmitted over the wireless communication medium. At the receiving wireless station, an uncompressed second eye view video set of pixels is reconstructed based on said first eye view set of pixels and said reduced set of pixels.

    Abstract: Time synchronization in a wireless communication system comprises transmitting a synchronization frame from a transmitter to a receiver over a wireless communication medium. The synchronization frame includes a timestamp indicating the transmitter local time when a symbol at a predefined position of the synchronization frame is placed on the wireless communication medium for transmission. The synchronization frame is received at the receiver which determines a receiving time comprising the receiver local time when said symbol of the synchronization frame was received at the physical layer of the receiver. Time synchronizing is performed by determining a difference between said timestamp and said receiving time, and adjusting the receiver local time based on said difference to time synchronize the receiver with the transmitter.

    Abstract: A method and system for data communication in a wireless network is provided. A wireless transmitter transmits a locality check message from a wireless transmitter to a wireless receiver over a wireless communication medium. Upon receiving a locality check response message from the wireless receiver, the wireless transmitter marks the locality check response message as valid even if it arrives after an original locality check time period since transmission of the locality check message, but before the end of an adjusted locality check time period. The adjusted locality check time period comprises said original locality check time period adjusted by delays in processing layers at the transmitter and wireless communication medium access delays in data communication between the wireless transmitter and the wireless receiver.

    Abstract: A method and system for wireless data communication for peer wireless stations in a network is provided. A pair of peer wireless stations perform discovery on a predefined wireless communication channel to discover each other. Upon peer wireless stations successfully discovering one another, a wireless communication channel is selected to setup a connection between the peer wireless stations for data communication on the selected wireless communication channel. The peer wireless stations then perform connection setup and data communication over the selected wireless channel. In one implementation, the network comprises a wireless local area network (WLAN) for ad-hoc Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS) peer-to-peer communication. Further, the peer wireless stations conduct millimeter wave (mmWave) directional data transmissions between the peer wireless stations on the selected wireless data communication channel.

    Abstract: Uncompressed video information is transmitted over a wireless communication medium from a wireless sender device to a wireless receiver device. Progressive transmission data rate adaptation is performed on original uncompressed video pixel information. The progressive transmission data rate adaptation is performed on selected pixel information to obtain a rate-reduced pixel information. The rate-reduced pixel information requires a lower transmission data rate than the original frame. The rate-reduced pixel information is transmitted over the wireless communication medium to the wireless receiver device. At the receiver, a reverse operation is performed to recover the original uncompressed video pixel information.
