Abstract: In a large network, it can be difficult to pinpoint and track down the causes of breaches of established policies. A policy compliance server allows traversal of notifications according to breaches, organizes the breaches (vulnerabilities and violation) according to severity and recurrence, and identifies related rules, network entities and configuration changes, which may be related to the breach. An integrated graphical user interface (GUI) provides efficient, timely traversal and analysis of rule breaches across the network to allow quick, efficient identification of the underlying cause or condition of the rule breach. A discoverer gathers configuration data including notifications of changes, alerts, and conditions in the network that are pertinent to the rule breaches. A compliance engine evaluates the configuration data against the rules to identify breaches.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes rendering a user interface enabling a user to dynamically configure a production copy and a replica of the production copy. The user interface further enables a user to dynamically configure a replica of a replica copy. The method also includes receiving a first set of inputs selected by a user using the user interface to configure the production copy, receiving a second set of inputs selected by the user using the user interface to configure the replica copy and configuring a data protection system to replicate the production copy at the replica based on the first and second set of inputs.

Abstract: A system for controlled-tuning path performance data collection through a single application control. In an embodiment, performance data collection may be turned on or off from an application host running a path performance data application via a user interface. The tool may automatically update performance data collection characteristics as the application host I/O data path changes according to user controlled settings but without requiring further user intervention during the updating. In various embodiments, the tool may update continuously and/or at specified intervals. Turning on path performance data collection on the application host via the user interface may automatically set up synchronized performance data collection for all managed objects within I/O data path(s) of the managed objects.
