  • Patent number: 11314459
Abstract: In various embodiments, methods and systems for implementing a distributed metadata management system in distributed storage systems are provided. A distributed storage system operates based on data storage resources (e.g., extents and streams). The distributed metadata management system is implemented for extent and stream metadata to facilitate the scalability of metadata processing. The distributed storage system implements extent managers and stream managers that independently manage extent and stream metadata, respectively. The extent managers are associated with an extent table that stores extent metadata. The stream managers are associated with streams that store associations with extents. The distributed metadata management system can also utilize a bootstrap layer that leverages components of a legacy distributed storage system to facilitate distributed management of extent and stream metadata.

  • Publication number: 20220116088
Abstract: A first device and second device communicate using mmWave communication with antenna alignment based on processing of ultra wide band (UWB) pulses. A limit on angle resolution due to a small number of antennas on either of the devices is relieved by using two or more carrier frequencies in the UWB pulses. A limit on angle resolution is further overcome in some situations by use of a neural network to refine angle estimates. In some situations, received power values are further used to select an angle for beam alignment.

  • Publication number: 20220082385
Abstract: A polarization-maintaining fully-reciprocal bi-directional optical carrier microwave resonance system and an angular velocity measurement method thereof. In the system, highly stable optical carrier microwaves are generated in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction in the same resonant cavity, and are used to measure the angular velocity of rotation of a carrier apparatus. A fully reciprocal ring-shaped resonant cavity structure is used to achieve a fully reciprocal bi-directional optical resonance system. A polarization state separation technique is used to separate an optical signal into two wavelengths, and optical signals with perpendicular polarization states are transmitted in opposite directions in a sensing ring, thereby improving the measurement capability of the sensing ring. Bi-directional optical carrier microwave resonance is achieved by using a phase tracking structure and a regenerative mode locking technique.

  • Publication number: 20220067065
Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided that enable immediate access to data associated with a source blob. The foregoing is achieved by creating a copy-on-read blob based on the source blob and a link blob based on the copy-on-read blob for each virtual machine to be deployed. When creating the copy-on-read blob, the source blob is not copied. Instead, data from the source blob is copied to the copy-on-read blob upon request by a virtual machine. Subsequent requests for that data are retrieved from the copy-on-read blob. Each link blob stores write data provided by its corresponding virtual machine. When a virtual machine requests data, its corresponding link blob is checked for the data. If the data is not stored therein, the copy-on-read blob is checked for the data. If the copy-on-read blob does not store the data, the data is retrieved from the source blob.

  • Patent number: 11249961
Abstract: A distributed storage system includes table controllers collectively storing partitions of a logical table having multiple rows. For each of the partitions, a corresponding table controller stores a subset of the rows of the logical table across individual pages. A management controller updates a schema of the logical table from a first to a second schema definition by, for each of the partitions, sending an update command indicating the second schema definition to the corresponding table controller. The first table controller corresponds to a first partition that includes a first subset of the rows. The first table controller, prior to receiving the update command, includes an identifier of the first schema definition within each page of data for the first subset. Subsequent to receiving the update command, the first table controller, when writing each new page of data for the first subset, includes an identifier of the second schema definition.

  • Publication number: 20220034660
Abstract: A bidirectional optical-carrying microwave resonance system based on a circulator structure and a method for detecting angular velocity by said system. A high-stability optical-carrying microwave of which polarization states in forward and reverse directions are perpendicular is generated in an optical fiber ring by utilizing a regenerative mold locking technology, a cavity length control technology, and a polarization state separation technology, and the optical-carrying microwave is used for measuring a rotational angular velocity. The circulator structure is adopted and the bidirectional optical-carrying microwave resonance is achieved by means of a bidirectional regenerative mode locking technology. A reciprocal bidirectional optical-carrying microwave resonance system is achieved on the basis of a non-reciprocal error elimination technology of a wide-spectrum optical interferometer.

  • Publication number: 20220003829
Abstract: A probe laser beam causes molecules to transition from a ground state to an excited state. A control laser beam causes molecules in the excited state to transition to a laser-induced Rydberg state. Microwave lenses convert a microwave wavefront into respective microwave beams. The microwave beams are counter-propagated through molecules so as to create a microwave interference pattern of alternating maxima and minima. The microwave interference pattern is imposed on the probe beam as a probe transmission pattern. The propagation direction of the microwave wavefront can be determined from the translational position of the probe transmission pattern; the intensity of the microwave wavefront can be determined by the intensity difference between the minima and maxima of the probe transmission pattern.
