Abstract: A method for displaying a user interface (UI) of a display apparatus on a remote control and a remote control applying the same are provided. The remote control includes a controlling unit which identifies information regarding a UI where a cursor is located on a screen of the display apparatus, and a display unit, such as a touch screen, which displays an image corresponding to the identified UI information. Accordingly, a user may remotely control the display apparatus more intuitively and delicately using the touch screen display unit on the remote control.

Abstract: A device and method for controlling sound output. The device includes a sound outputter configured to output sound of content; a display configured to display a plurality of windows; and a controller configured to, in response to receiving a user input signal indicating a selection of one of the plurality of windows, output sound of content being reproduced in the selected window through the sound outputter and discontinue outputting sound of content being reproduced in the plurality of windows, except for the selected window.

Abstract: A system and method for image file compression method are provided. The method for compressing an image file, to which data corresponding to a plurality of different color channels for each pixel are assigned, includes reconstructing the image file so that pieces of data corresponding to the same color channel from among pieces of data corresponding to different color channels of each pixel are consecutively arranged, and compressing the reconstructed image file by applying a frequency compression scheme to the image file.
