  • Publication number: 20240159301
Abstract: A torque converter assembly and a method of assembling torque converter components is disclosed herein. The torque converter can include a turbine and a secondary component configured to be connected to the turbine. The connection interface between the turbine and the secondary component can be provided solely via deformation of a portion of the turbine, such as an integrally formed flange, such that the turbine and the secondary component are connected with each other.

  • Publication number: 20240011867
Abstract: A spline adapter assembly for connecting a torque converter one-way clutch to a shaft for testing. The spline adapter assembly includes an inner race ring including a radially outer roller body contact surface and a radially inner interface surface, and an adapter having a radially outer interface surface that is complementary to and engaged with the radially inner interface surface of the inner race ring and a radially inner shaft interface surface. The inner race ring of the spline adapter assembly replaces the original inner one-way clutch race ring and can be machined for each assembly being tested in order to provide the proper radially outer roller body contact surface configuration, and is connected to a universal adapter that mates with the test equipment.

  • Patent number: 11719318
Abstract: A stator assembly for a torque converter includes a body and a washer. The body is rotatable about an axis and has a cavity defined by an axial wall radially spaced from the axis and a radial wall extending radially inward from the axial wall. The washer is disposed in the cavity and is configured to be compressed against the radial wall. The washer includes a base and a plurality of circumferentially spaced from each other and extending radially outward from the base. The plurality of tabs are configured to non-rotatably connect to the axial wall.

  • Patent number: 11674559
Abstract: A drive assembly for a vehicle drive train includes a base assembly including a base hub configured for non-rotatably connecting to an outer circumferential surface of a transmission input shaft. The base assembly includes a torsional damper fixed to the base hub. The torsional damper includes an input section and an output section drivingly connected by springs. The springs allow relative rotation between the input section and the output section. The output section of the torsional damper is non-rotatably fixed to the base hub. The drive assembly also includes a raw hub extension configured for non-rotatably connecting to an engine crankshaft. The raw hub extension is non-rotatably fixed to the input part of the torsional damper at an engine side of the torsional damper. The torsional damper allows relative rotation between the raw hub extension and the base hub.
