  • Patent number: 10434526
Abstract: An improved mist generating apparatus is provided, the apparatus having a longitudinal axis (L), and first and second opposing nozzle surfaces (100,102) which define a nozzle between them. A first process fluid passage (28) has an inlet connectable to a supply of process fluid, and a process fluid outlet (110) on one or the first and second nozzle surfaces (100,102) such that the process fluid outlet (110) opens into the nozzle. The nozzle has a nozzle inlet (104) connectable to a supply of driving fluid, a nozzle outlet (108), and a throat portion (106) intermediate the nozzle inlet (104) and nozzle outlet (108). The nozzle throat (106) has a cross sectional area which is less than that of both the nozzle inlet (104) and the nozzle outlet (108). The nozzle extends radially away from the longitudinal axis (L) such that the nozzle defines a rotational angle about the longitudinal axis (L).

  • Publication number: 20160030899
Abstract: An apparatus for generating a mist is provided. The apparatus has at least one working fluid supply conduit having an inlet in fluid communication with a supply of working fluid and an outlet in fluid communication with a first mixing chamber. The apparatus also includes a plurality of transport fluid passages, each of which has an inlet adapted to receive a supply of transport fluid and an outlet in fluid communication with the mixing chamber. Downstream of the mixing chamber is a nozzle having an inlet in fluid communication with the mixing chamber, an outlet, and a throat portion intermediate the nozzle inlet and outlet. The throat portion of the nozzle has a cross sectional area which is less than that of either the nozzle inlet or the nozzle outlet. The apparatus enhances the atomization of the working fluid to generate the mist.

  • Publication number: 20160030958
Abstract: A mist generating apparatus is provided, the apparatus comprising a nozzle having a nozzle inlet (54) connectable to a source of driving fluid, a nozzle outlet (58), and a nozzle throat (56) intermediate the nozzle inlet (54) and nozzle outlet (58), the nozzle throat (56) having a cross sectional area which is less than that of both the nozzle inlet (54) and nozzle outlet (58). The apparatus also comprises at least one process fluid passage (32) having an inlet connectable to a source of process fluid and an outlet (34) which opens into the nozzle. A perforated member (46) is located across the process fluid passage outlet (34) to assist the apparatus in atomising the process fluid. Methods of generating a mist and assembling the apparatus are also provided.
