  • Patent number: 7552140
Abstract: A system that compares two sets of information to generate and store comparison results is disclosed. The sets of information may be information pertaining to known aspects of a product and aspects of a new product. The comparison of the sets of information yields information that highlights the differences between the known product and the new product. By distilling the differences between the known product and the new product, a smart owner's manual that is stripped of redundant information is created.

  • Patent number: 7293645
Abstract: While clean, disinfected hands are widely recognized as a principle means for controlling the spread of infections, disease, and similar health problems to both self and others, the prompt and repeated application of such materials as soap and water or waterless gels is necessary to maintain sanitary hands. So well recognized is this fact that many professional and governmental guidelines backed by regulations have been drawn to enforce compliance. This invention relates to compliance monitoring of hand sanitizing fluids and gels used to reduce the hand-borne transmission of pathogens. Disclosed is a simple, low-cost method of which a key aspect is the employment of a wristband dispenser with plural individual applications of hand sanitizing fluid in a convenient dispensing form. Inclusion of a use activated timing device provides a means of monitoring an individual's elapsed time since last use.

Abstract: System and method for guiding a driver of a vehicle (20) from a starting point to a destination point using an assignment of levels of urgency of navigation cues. The system comprises a navigation unit (38), a controller (22) and a user interface (42). The navigation unit (38) is capable of selecting a route between the starting point and the destination point. The navigation unit (38) is further capable of generating a plurality of navigation cues to guide the driver along the selected route. The controller (22) is connected to the navigation unit (38) and receives navigation cues. The controller (22) has an urgency calculator (40) that is capable of assigning a level of urgency to the navigation cues. The controller (22) may also have a workload manager (60) that is capable of classifying an activity state of the driver as well as updating the level of urgency of the navigation cue. The user interface (42) presents the navigation cues based on the level of urgency of the navigation cues.

  • Patent number: 6866102
Abstract: An electrical fire suppression system for a structure having electrical fixtures includes a central computer system and a plurality of fire sensing devices distributed through the structure. A central fire suppression fluid tank is connected to fire suppression fluid pipes and a set of valves are mounted on the fire suppression fluid pipes to control fire suppression fluid flow therethrough, the valves being controlled by the central computer system. Each of the plurality of fire suppression fluid pipes extend into at least one of the electrical fixtures for transfer of fire suppression fluid directly thereto. Upon detection of fire, the fire sensing device signals the central computer system to determine the location of the fire and command the valves on the fire suppression fluid pipes to open to release fire suppression fluid therethrough for extinguishing the fire at the electrical fixture at which it started.
