  • Patent number: 8439801
Abstract: A method for controlling a drivetrain in a motor vehicle which has an internal combustion engine with a crankshaft, an automated gearbox with engagable and disengagable gears and a gearbox input shaft and a gearbox output shaft which drives drive wheels, a friction clutch which connects the crankshaft and the gearbox input shaft in a separable manner and is operated in an automated fashion, and a control unit for controlling the drivetrain. For driving comfort, before the vehicle comes to a stop, a starting gear is engaged in an overrun mode such that, after opening the friction clutch, a synchronization of gearbox input and output shaft rotational speed of the starting gear is initiated at a gearbox input shaft rotational speed which is higher than a target rotational speed of the gearbox input shaft yielded by the transmission ratio of the starting gear between the gearbox input and output shaft.

  • Publication number: 20080224837
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for graphically processing an image of the surroundings of a motor vehicle, the image being been provided by a camera device. It is known fact that said images are processed in such a way that the danger potential for the motor vehicle posed by an obstacle in the surroundings is visualized optically by or highlighted for the driver. According to the invention, the image provided by the camera device is processed taking into account the position of the obstacle in the image in order to highlight said danger potential in an even clearer manner for the driver. To this end, the actual position of the obstacle in the surroundings of the motor vehicle is initially determined. The position of the obstacle in the image corresponding to the actual position of the obstacle in the surroundings is subsequently determined.

  • Patent number: 7374511
Abstract: Methods and devices for actuating a parking brake in a gearbox which is actuated in an automated manner, whereby gear changes are carried out using at least one electrically driven actuator, gear positions can be selected by using a selector device, and the parking brake can be activated by using the selector device when the vehicle is stationary or moving slowly. A vehicle provided with an additional gearbox. An ignition key can only be removed, when the gearbox is in a P state and the additional gearbox is not in the N state. A further method and device, whereby the additional gearbox can only be shifted in the N state when the gearbox is not in the P state. Further methods and a device in which automated manual gearboxes, especially parallel gearboxes, are controlled in such a way that the vehicle can be safely parked.

  • Patent number: 7151989
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for shifting an initial gear upwards into a target gear in a twin-clutch gearbox of a motor vehicle. According to the invention, the engine torque (MMotor) of the vehicle is altered when a target gear is selected incorrectly and detected thus. The output torque (MOutput) is then reduced if the correct target gear is introduced. The invention also relates to a twin-clutch gearbox, especially for carrying out said method.

  • Patent number: 7080569
Abstract: A powershift transmission is proposed using two transmission paths, a friction clutch being assigned to each transmission path and the transmission paths being coupleable to an output shaft for torque transmission. The transmission has a device that detects the clutch torque transmitted by the friction clutch of the active transmission path, which is coupled to the output shaft, and, when the clutch torque falls below threshold value, initiates a disengagement of the active gear ratio.
