  • Publication number: 20150273978
Abstract: A method is provided for operating a heat accumulator of a motor vehicle. Accordingly, following a start of the motor vehicle, a length and/or duration of a distance to be driven by the motor vehicle are/is ascertained or estimated. Depending on the length and/or the duration, a decision is made as to whether discharging of the heat accumulator will be carried out.

  • Patent number: 7158868
Abstract: A method and a device (10) for consistent bidirectional analysis of engine characteristics map data in an engine characteristics map are described. The engine characteristics map data represents interlinked technical variables. In this method, first a characteristic curve representing the interdependence of two of the technical variables is determined. This characteristic curve forms the basis for additional conversions in bidirectional analysis of the particular engine characteristics map.

  • Patent number: 7130737
Abstract: A method for controlling a drive unit of a vehicle which allows a comfortable compensation of the torque requirement of ancillary components. In this method, torque losses are compensated in a steady-state manner in an overrun and an acceleration operation. The steady-state compensation of the torque losses in overrun operation is weighted by a first weighting factor. The first weighting factor is raised in a linear manner when the drag torque decreases in amount, until acceleration operation is reached.

  • Patent number: 6947856
Abstract: Method for detecting a signal, particularly a voltage, for example a battery voltage, having the following steps: measuring the signal and/or the battery voltage at a predefined sampling rate, storing the measured measurement values in a buffer memory, and forming a median value of the stored measurement values in a time-slot pattern slower than the sampling rate to obtain an averaged value.

  • Patent number: 6928854
Abstract: A method for detecting a malfunction of a sensor measuring a measured quantity is provided, in which a signal-range check for the output signal of the sensor is performed, provided that the measured quantity is within a permissible range. If the measured quantity is outside the permissible range, no signal-range check is performed, but the output signal is used for detecting the measured quantity and for further calculations. The sensor may be, for example, a hot-film air-mass meter. If this is the case, the measured quantity is the drawn-in air mass, and the signal-range check is performed, provided that the engine operating state and thus the drawn-in air satisfies specifiable conditions. In addition to the signal-range check, onboard diagnoses with regard to specifiable plausibility criteria relating to the offset-drift and/or the sensitivity-drift of the sensor may also be performed.

  • Patent number: 6893377
Abstract: The method and apparatus (130) control a drive unit (30) with an internal combustion engine (35), so that changes of an output variable of the drive unit (3) during load change are limited. The method includes formulating a desired behavior of the output variable for the load change; changing the desired behavior of the output variable by changing an air supply of the internal combustion engine and forming at least a first preliminary value for adjusting the output variable by filtering the desired behavior according to an inertia of an air system for the air supply of the internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 6886530
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for operating a drive motor of a vehicle are suggested. A resulting desired torque for controlling the drive motor is pregiven in dependence upon the driver command torque and additional desired torque quantities. To limit the resulting desired torque, a motor minimum torque is provided which is derived from the lost torques and is dependent upon rpm.

  • Patent number: 6883493
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for operating a drive unit of a vehicle are suggested. Starting from a driver command torque which is converted into a resulting desired torque while considering additional torques, a correction of the resulting desired torque is undertaken in dependence upon the loss torques, which are not available for the drive. For realizing a negative torque command of the driver, the driver command torque is corrected with the loss torque weighted in dependence upon accelerator pedal position and rpm.

  • Patent number: 6698396
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for dividing up a total fuel amount, which is to be injected into the combustion chamber of a cylinder during a combustion cycle, into a plurality of injections. To this end, a first fuel amount, which is to be injected during a first injection is determined, a fourth, minimum fuel amount for a third injection is determined, and the total fuel amount minus the first fuel amount is compared to the fourth, minimum fuel amount. When the total fuel amount minus the first fuel amount is greater than or equal to the fourth, minimum fuel amount, the first fuel amount and a second fuel amount, which is to be injected into the combustion chamber of the cylinder during a second injection, are set to zero, and a third fuel amount, which is to be injected during a third injection, is set to the total fuel amount.
