  • Patent number: 10477289
Abstract: A sound generating device is provided on a vehicle to reduce or generate engine sound, and is used in particular for an exhaust system of a combustion engine of the vehicle. The sound generating device has a housing into which a loudspeaker is positioned to divide an inner space of the housing into two sub-spaces separated in a gas-tight manner. A seal rim provides the gas-tight sealing of the loudspeaker towards the housing. An abutment rim positions the loudspeaker in the inner space of the housing. The abutment rim and the seal rim are spaced apart from each other in a direction of a central axis of the loudspeaker. There is also described an exhaust system of a combustion engine of a vehicle with a sound generating device.

  • Patent number: 9624800
Abstract: A vaporizer for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine has a vaporizer tube and a holding sleeve in which the vaporizer tube is inserted. A clamping sleeve sits on the vaporizer tube. The vaporizer tube includes two circumferentially surrounding clamping surfaces which protrude in a radial direction and cooperate with the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve such that the clamping surfaces are clamped between the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve by an axial clamping force to be gastight. At least one of the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve includes a surrounding sealing edge which rests against the respective clamping surface via a line contact and forms an annular sealing seat. The vaporizer further includes a device preventing relative rotation between the holding sleeve and the vaporizer tube. A heater of the vaporizer is attached to the vaporizer tube using a resistance welding method.

  • Patent number: 9068488
Abstract: A vaporization device for a motor vehicle exhaust system vaporizes an oxidizable liquid and introduces a vapor produced from the oxidizable liquid into an exhaust gas flow of the motor vehicle exhaust system. The vaporization device includes a heating element that is arranged in a housing, and which has the form of a glowing filament. The housing has an inlet for the liquid, at least one vaporization chamber, and an outlet for the vapor. The glowing filament is embedded in a glow tube surrounding the glowing filament. The glowing filament and the glow tube constitute a prefabricated unit which is fastened on a side of the housing by the glow tube being mounted directly to the housing. Furthermore, an exhaust system having a vaporization device, and a method of producing a vaporization device are described.

  • Publication number: 20090217649
Abstract: An exhaust system for a motor vehicle comprises a particulate filter, upstream of which an oxidation catalyst is provided, and a regeneration device for the particulate filter. The regeneration device includes an evaporation unit for introducing a vapour generated from an oxidizable fluid into the exhaust gas stream before the oxidation catalyst. The evaporation unit includes a heating element arranged in a housing and a fluid supply with a controllable fluid pump. A control device controls the fluid pump. This invention furthermore relates to a process for regenerating a particulate filter.
