    Abstract: An air-cooled reciprocating compressor for vehicles includes a compressing unit, which has a plurality of cylinders and is driven by a motor and has a fan for generating a cooling air flow. The fan is disposed on a connecting shaft between the motor and the compressing unit and takes in cooling air from the surroundings and delivers cooling air to a downstream cooling air duct, wherein the cooling air duct at least partially surrounds the cylinders and is designed such that cooling air can flow around all in-line cylinders of the compressing unit.
