  • Patent number: 6625268
Abstract: Known intelligent network architectures do not comprise a mechanism by means of which it would be possible to notify a service control point (SCP) of a recurrent use of supplementary services or of the activation of the supplementary services at a service switching point (SSP). In accordance with the invention, the service control point (SCP) informs a mobile services switching center (MSC) in a message RequestNotificationCharging of the events the mobile services switching center (MSC) is to report to the service control point (SCP). The mobile services switching center (MSC) reports the existence of said events to the service control point (SCP) in a message EventNotificationCharging.

  • Patent number: 6574326
Abstract: A method and a system for reducing transmission of parameters between a-mobile switching center and a service control point in a telecommunication network such as the Wireless Intelligent Network. The mobile switching center transmits a first signaling message containing only a first set of parameters to the service control point during initial call processing. In response, the service control point transmits a second signaling message to the mobile switching center indicating to the service switching point a second set of parameters required by the service control point with respect to the first signaling message. The service switching point then transmits the second set of parameters in a third signaling message to the service control point in response to the second signaling message.

  • Publication number: 20020176379
Abstract: The presentation of information identifying a calling user of a terminal device (MS-A) to a called terminal device (MS-B) in a communication involving a radio access network is triggered upon receipt of an incoming call; if triggered, the information is presented to a user at a man machine interface (MMI) of the terminal device; a user input is collected via the man machine interface (MMI) in response to the presentation, and the received call is controlled according to the collected user input. It becomes advantageously possible to initiate a retrieval procedure for calling party identifying information while the call is being controlled by a service control device and prior to the routing of the call to the called terminal device.

  • Publication number: 20020169776
Abstract: The present invention proposes a communication network, said network comprising at least an application server means (APSE), a subscriber information register means (HSS), a call state control functional entity (CSCF), and a service portal (SP), wherein said application server means (APSE) is connected to said service portal (SP) and to said call state control functional entity (CSCF), said service portal is further connected to said home subscriber server means (HSS), and said subscriber information register means (HSS) is further connected to said call state control functional entity (CSCF). In connection with the proposed network architecture, the present invention also proposes methods for handling service scripts within the network with regard to creation and storage of service scripts, provisioning the service scripts for a user, distribution of the scripts in the network and execution of the scripts during call processing.

  • Patent number: 6466786
Abstract: In a call set-up method a called mobile station is checked upon routing an incoming call to see if incoming calls are barred. In prior art call set-up an incoming call barring prevents the routing of all calls destined to the mobile station. The call set-up method of the present invention is characterized by bypassing the incoming call barring in the case of a priority call. The invention also relates to a mobile communications system comprising a first subscriber register for permanent storage of subscriber data and a second subscriber register for temporary storage of subscriber data. Incoming call barring is set in subscriber data. The mobile communications system of the invention is characterized by the system begin arranged to bypass the incoming call barring in the case of a priority call.

  • Publication number: 20020091797
Abstract: A method for providing a user interface between a terminal device (MS) and a communication network (IN-NW) configures intelligent network services. The network (IN-NW) includes a service control entity (SCP) and a server entity (WAP-SERVER) communicating with each other via an interface (WAP-I/F). The SCP is connected to at least one service switching device (SSP) establishing communication via at least one access network (BSS) with the terminal device (MS). The MS is provided with a browsing means (WAP-UA) adapted to communicate with a user of the MS via a man machine interface (MMI) and with the WAP-SERVER. Content constituting a user interface is provided for the control of a multiple subscriber profiles (MSP) feature with the user interacting with the content. The state of the MSP is modified in accordance with the interaction.

  • Publication number: 20020049065
Abstract: A method and system for distributing IN services to a mobile network is described, wherein a service trader function is provided in the mobile network, the service trader function being arranged for providing a location or identification information of distributed IN services. The service trader function is checked when a location update procedure is performed or when an IN service is triggered at the visited network. Thereby, the IN service can be triggered at the visited network based on the checking result, such that the signaling load at the home network can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20020012338
Abstract: A packet switching control system and method are described, for controlling a packet switched connection between a subscriber terminal and an end terminal identified by a connection endpoint identification in a communication network. A subscriber-specific screening list for a plurality of connection endpoint identifications is provided, wherein an subscriber-specific screening control of the packet switched connection is performed on the basis of the screening list. The screening list may contain detection point settings for an IN interrogation so as to provide an interworking function between the IN and the packet network. Moreover, the screening list may include a charging information to thereby define different charging parameters for packet connections to different connection endpoints. This enables the subscriber to define price limits for predetermined connections.

  • Publication number: 20010048673
Abstract: A method of maintaining a connection between an intelligent network control point and a switching point in a telecommunications system, and a telecommunications system. A service connection between a control point and a switching point is provided with an identifier. The identifier is transmitted from the old switching point to the new switching point whenever the subscriber moves from the area of one switching point to the area of another switching point, whereby a service connection is set up from the new switching point to the control point by means of the identifier.

  • Patent number: 6304652
Abstract: Conference call set-up is conventionally controlled with special keys # and * of a telephone set. Today these functions are performed by means of intelligent network technology. A problem with standard CS-1 and CS-2 intelligent network architectures is that they do not allow merging of call segments initiated by a Service Control Point (SCP). According to the invention: in response to the messages from the service control function (SCF), the service switching point (SSP) creates a separate call segment for each B subscriber; in response to the creation of a call segment (CS1-CS3), the service switching point (SSP) sends a message about this to the service control function (SCF); in response to a message confirming the creation of at least two call segments (CS1-CS3), the service control function (SCF) orders the service switching point (SSP) to merge the call segments created.
