  • Publication number: 20230272522
Abstract: A method for functionalizing a cellulose-based substrate by chemical deposition of at least one thin layer, from gaseous precursors. The method includes the provision of a substrate including at least one sheet having a first face and a second face, of surface roughness greater than or equal to 0.1 ?m. The first face has a part superposed to another part belonging to the first face or to the second face. A spacing between said parts is conserved at least locally, so as to enable a diffusion of the gaseous precursors. The method also includes the gaseous chemical deposition of at least one thin layer on the substrate such as provided by diffusion of the gaseous precursors, the gaseous precursors diffusing at least in each spacing.

  • Publication number: 20230257175
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of biodegradable food containers In particular, the present invention relates to rigid food containers comprising at least one layer comprising polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) and another layer comprising cellulosic fibres. For example, the food container may be a food bottle. One embodiment of the present invention relates to a rigid biodegradable food container comprising an inner container comprising at least one PHA biodegradable polymer and an outer container comprising cellulose.

  • Publication number: 20220220285
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a suspension of cellulose nanofibrils from an aqueous suspension of cellulose fibres is disclosed including the following steps: chemical treatment, in a reactor, of the aqueous suspension of cellulose fibres by at least one functionalising agent, the chemical treatment being configured to functionalise the cellulose fibres at a modification rate that is higher, indeed strictly higher, than 1.0 mmol/g, and mechanical treatment, in a twin-screw extruder, of the aqueous suspension of functionalised cellulose fibres, each screw of the extruder comprising at least two fibrillation segments. In accordance with at least one embodiment, this method makes it possible to produce a suspension of cellulose nanofibrils of good quality, with a high dry matter content, and while consuming less energy than the methods of the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20190202189
Abstract: A method for fixing a first surface to a second surface. The method comprises depositing a first layer of nanocellulose on the first surface; bringing the first layer of nanocellulose into contact with the second surface or with a second layer of nanocellulose deposited on the second surface; and fixing the first layer of nanocellulose to the second surface, the second surface containing cellulose, or to the second layer of nanocellulose by a step of ultrasonic welding, which results in a first zone comprising the first layer of nanocellulose, where the first surface is fixed to the second surface, and a second zone around the first zone, where the first surface is not fixed to the second surface.
