Abstract: A method of sending map related information from a device to a set of associated devices is provided. The method displays a map on a display screen of a first device. The method receives a request to share map information with other associated devices. The method displays a list of a set of devices associated with the first device. The method receives a selection of one or more devices in the set of devices. The method identifies the map information to share based on a set of criteria. The method sends the identified map information from the first device to the identified devices.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and machine readable tangible storage media that can provide for smooth and seamless opening of a file from, for example, a preview are described. A preview of a file can be generated by a non-native viewer or reader application and in response to a command to open a file in a native application, the preview can continue to be displayed while the native application launches such that a user will perceive no interruption in display of the content. The non-native application can pass a display state (e.g. a page number or scroll position) to the native application such that the native application continues to show a user's current position or view port into the file.

Abstract: We describe a signal processor, the signal processor comprising: a probability vector generation system, wherein said probability vector generation system has an input to receive a category vector for a category of output example and an output to provide a probability vector for said category of output example, wherein said output example comprises a set of data points, and wherein said probability vector defines a probability of each of said set of data points for said category of output example; a memory storing a plurality of said category vectors, one for each of a plurality of said categories of output example; and a stochastic selector to select a said stored category of output example for presentation of the corresponding category vector to said probability vector generation system; wherein said signal processor is configured to output data for an output example corresponding to said selected stored category.

Abstract: Methods, machine media, and systems that can manipulate preview panels are disclosed. In one embodiment, a preview panel can be transformed, in response to user interaction with the preview panel, into an icon representing the file containing the content displayed in the preview panel. The preview panel can, in one embodiment, be opened from a user interaction with a first icon and the preview panel can be transformed into a second icon that represents the file and can be manipulated as if it were the first icon.

In one exemplary method, a user input causes a search in a mode based upon at least one field attribute designating a person and causes results of the search to be presented. This method may include filtering files which do not include matching people identifiers in certain selected fields. Other methods include allowing searching with a predetermined syntax; prepopulating a search result window with results of a default search before receiving a user input containing search input terms; displaying selectable terms from a file found in a search, the selection of those terms causing another search; displaying previews or other representations of files found in a search where the previews are resizable or zoomable or pageable.

In some embodiments, an icon representing a file is displayed in a graphical user interface (GUI), where the icon includes one or more predefined decorations. The decorations may be chosen based on the file type, such as slide decorations for presentations, a foldover for documents, etc. This may also be referred to as type conformance. A preview of the content of the file is presented within the icon without launching an application which has created the file (also referred to as the creator application). The pre-defined decorations on the icon may be maintained on the icon while the preview of the content of the file is presented. The format of the icon (e.g., shape of the icon, size of the icon, etc.) may be maintained as well during presentation of the preview. In one embodiment, a preview of content of external data that is referenced by a link within a document is presented while the document is presented (e.g. displayed) by a first application, and the preview can be displayed in a bubble that is adjacent to and points to the link; the content of the external data is not accessible to the first application in one embodiment and the preview is presented by a non-native application or service which cannot create or edit the content of the external data.
