  • Patent number: 5408715
Abstract: In a steamer for the steaming of a web of textile material laden with liquid supplied by an applicator device, steam is continuously fed to the steamer. The quantity of steam fed to the steamer is calculated in dependence upon the amount of liquid previously applied to the web and accurately corresponds to the amount of steam necessary in order to heat the web of material to the steaming temperature.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 13, 1994
Date of Patent: April 25, 1995
Assignee: Eduard Kusters Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG
    Inventors: Alfred Keller, Julius Kohnen
  • Patent number: 5205008
Abstract: An undyed carpet web is pretreated by applying a liquid preparatory agent in a gap of an applicator. Subsequent to the application of the preparatory agent, the carpet web is detained in a dwell apparatus. The web is then suctioned off in a hydroextraction device and steamed in a steaming machine before the dyeing operation begins.

  • Patent number: 5063758
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a treatment fluid, such as dye, onto an advancing web of material has a run-off surface sloping down toward the web that extends above and over the width of the web. The dye flows onto the web from the lower edge of the run-off surface. The dye is applied onto an upper zone of the run-off surface from individual nozzles, which are a constituent part of nozzle combs that are pivotable about a transverse axis between a first position disposed above the run-off surface and a second position over a run-off gutter.

  • Patent number: 5048314
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a treatment fluid on a web of material includes a run-off surface extending transversely over a web to be treated. The run-off surface slopes down obliquely onto the web and has an upper portion upon which treatment fluid applied thereto flows down over the run-off surface onto the web via the lower edge thereof. A flow homogenizing baffle is provided on the run-off surface. The baffle is formed from closely spaced deflection elements that even out any irregularities that exist in the fluid film flowing over the upper portion of the run-off surface.

  • Patent number: 4576112
Abstract: A device for applying a treatment medium, especially in foam form, to a running web of material, especially a rug web, with an application beam extending transversely to the web of material, the application beam having a longitudinal slot, through which the treatment medium emerges onto the web of material. On the side opposite the slot an elastic cushion which presses the web of material against the sliding surface of the application beam is arranged on the back of the web of material. The cushion may be an inflatable elastic hollow body or a foam material cushion.

  • Patent number: 4506526
Abstract: Apparatus for treating webs of material with several buoyant rolls which engage the web of material, consist of a closed buoyant body and are arranged in a trough which contains liquid, is open at the top and is at atmospheric pressure, parallel and adjacent to each other horizontally restrained but freely floating in the vertical direction without touching each other. The rolls may be arranged horizontally side by side without forming roll gaps or vertically on top of each other, forming roll gaps with two guide rolls provided above each buoyant roll.
