The apparatus includes an interface to a communication device which can be used by participants, in particular control devices and/or sensors, in a vehicle to communicate with one another. The apparatus includes a device for changing a behavior of the communication device, which device is configured to activate the change in the behavior of the communication device if at least one boundary condition, on which activation of the fault diagnosis depends, is satisfied. The apparatus also includes artificial intelligence which is configured to determine the at least one boundary condition on the basis of an internal state of at least one participant.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for heat-sealing windows into folding carton blanks for producing liquid-proof folding cartons having film windows. Pieces of film that are cut to measure are placed on the window openings of the folding carton blanks and the edges of the pieces of film are heat-sealed with the folding carton blanks so as to be liquid-proof using heated pressure segments or heat-sealing dies. The folding carton blanks, together with the pieces of film, are fed to a tail pulley for a transport belt by means of the transport belt and are inserted in the gap between the tail pulley and the transport belt resting thereon. In this gap, the blanks and pieces of film are continuously heat-sealed together by means of at least two heated pressure segments that are disposed on the outer periphery of the tail pulley and push radially from inwards against the transport belt in the area of deflection of the transport belt and thus onto the edges of the pieces of film.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a fold line in a sheet of semi-rigid thermoplastic material including supporting the sheet on cylindrical rollers as the sheet is drawn forwardly along the creasing path through a creasing zone and applying a sequence of heated creasing rollers with each roller penetrating the surface of the sheet an increasing amount and immediately following the creasing by a caliper roller having shoulders for flattening the shoulders in the plastic formed beside the crease.
