  • Patent number: 7722730
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for heat-sealing windows into folding carton blanks for producing liquid-proof folding cartons having film windows. Pieces of film that are cut to measure are placed on the window openings of the folding carton blanks and the edges of the pieces of film are heat-sealed with the folding carton blanks so as to be liquid-proof using heated pressure segments or heat-sealing dies. The folding carton blanks, together with the pieces of film, are fed to a tail pulley for a transport belt by means of the transport belt and are inserted in the gap between the tail pulley and the transport belt resting thereon. In this gap, the blanks and pieces of film are continuously heat-sealed together by means of at least two heated pressure segments that are disposed on the outer periphery of the tail pulley and push radially from inwards against the transport belt in the area of deflection of the transport belt and thus onto the edges of the pieces of film.

  • Publication number: 20020084025
Abstract: In a process and a device for the production of cardboard cutouts with glued-on second-material pieces, preferably film pieces for use as folding boxes with film window, in which the cardboard cutouts are glued at a gluing station by means of block cylinders, in order thereupon to obtain the film pieces applied by a suction cylinder, in which the transport of the cardboard cutouts occurs by suction bands, with avoidance of a contamination of the suction bands, a high precision for the applying of the film pieces onto the cardboard cutouts is ensured by the feature that the suction band or the section bands are supported in the zone of the block cylinder in such manner that partial zones defined according to construction of the supporting device of one or several suction bands are moved against the block cylinder or removed from the contact zone of the block cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5941517
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for decollating blanks of cardboard or the like stacked behind a stop in a feeding station from a magazine or stack of blanks and for feeding the blanks to a transfer station of a subsequent process operated in a machine cycle, wherein the apparatus includes at least one delivery conveyor arranged underneath the stack of blanks, and wherein the delivery conveyor includes a conveyor belt and a belt guide for the controlled removal of the respectively lowermost blank and for conveying the blank to the timed subsequent process. The transfer station of the subsequent process controls the speed of the delivery conveyor which operates without fixed cycle.

  • Patent number: 5853141
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for automatically exchanging foil rolls, particularly in the manufacture of folding boxes with foil windows, wherein the end of one foil web is automatically connected to the beginning of the next following foil web. The method includes the steps of temporarily holding the end portion of the foil web which is about to run out, simultaneously connecting the end portion to the beginning of the next foil web, releasing the end portion after the connection has been effected, subsequently severing the end of the first foil web and, during these steps, further conveying without interruptions the foil web from a loop. The apparatus includes a connecting station arranged upstream of a folding box production plant in the sequence of operation, the connecting station including a turnstile on which the foil rolls with foil webs are arranged.
