  • Patent number: 4536107
Abstract: A self-feeding, self-aligning drill bit includes a working end with a cylindrical portion having a desired cutting diameter and a conical threaded portion extending therefrom terminating in a threaded tip. The diameter of the threaded portion increases from the tip toward the cylindrical portion such that it approaches the diameter of the cylindrical portion at their juncture. One or more flutes extend longitudinally through both the cylindrical portion and the threaded portion to form one or more cutting edges extending at an angle relative to the axis of the drill bit. The threaded portion may include one or more peripheral grooves staggered along the length of the threaded portion to provide additional cutting edges to reduce cutting torque. The threaded portion not only pulls the bit into the workpart but also the cutting edges thereof function to cut a preliminary hole and also cut apart the workpart debris to significantly reduce chip size.

  • Patent number: 4350061
Abstract: This is concerned with a wire stripping mechanism and specifically is concerned with a mechanism for removing the insulation from the end of electric wires where the insulation is of a construction that is quite difficult to remove. More specifically the stripper is concerned with dealing with quite small wires where the insulation is thin and quite difficult to remove.

  • Patent number: 4246808
Abstract: A tool for stripping the insulation material from fine wires without nicking or damaging the conductor portion of the wire. The tool has a pair of cutting blades mounted on elongated members with handle means attached for manipulation of the tool. Cutting edges are provided on opposing sides of each blade. The blade structures are self-aligning to assure the proper severing of insulation material. Alignment means are incorporated in the blade structure such that the blade pairs are interchangeable. A wire guide is provided to position wires between the blades at the precise location for stripping.

  • Patent number: 4118863
Abstract: A hair trimming head for slow rate hair trimming and thinning having a stationary blade with cutting teeth and a movable blade with cutting teeth, the blades being mounted in effective cutting relation with the teeth of the movable blade projecting beyond the ends of the teeth on the stationary blade, whereby hair first engages the teeth of the movable blade and is agitated and fed in controlled manner between the movable teeth into cutting engagement with the teeth of the stationary blade. The relative longitudinal positioning of the two blades is non-critical, it being necessary only to position the blades such that the effective cutting lengths of the teeth on the stationary blade lie within the limits of the effective cutting lengths of the teeth of the movable blade. The effective cutting length of the teeth of the stationary blade is of the order of about one or two times the diameter of human hair, thereby providing control over the amount of hair cut so overcutting and uneveness are avoided.
