In some aspects, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes: receiving, from a wireless communication device, a synchronization signal block (SSB); and measuring, based on timing offsets for each of a plurality of beams of the SSB, one or multiple beams of the SSB. In some instances, the UE determines a number of beams of the SSB to measure based on the timing offsets for each of the plurality of beams of the SSB.
